I think Olly Murs "pop career" has pretty much been saved by the non-stop exposure he's recieved as the co-host of X-Tra factor. Olly was starting to flounder a bit, and his singles tended to chart decently them bomb down the charts pretty fast. But X-tra Factor has given him a second wind.
Syco usually repeat a trick if it works. Marcus is more than likely to face the curse of the flop male winners. If they get him a high profile presenting gig (maybe even taking over from Olly next year on X-Tra Factor), then they might hope to save Marcus from the usual fate of male winners.
Marcus comes off like a Children's TV presenter more than a popstar anyway, so it'd probably be a good gig for him.
