Pat Sharp mentions in The Sun that Lorraine only had Tedward for four weeks, which completely changes that whole argument in my eyes and makes Lorraine look pathetic (yes she said she only cried because Crissy did...which begs the question why was Crissy crying?) She obviousy bought Tedward just before going in the jungle to use as a prop to make herself appear more interesting. It had no sentimental value to her. SO HAPPY she went last night.

I thought it was really revealling that Lorraine didnt even hear "Tedwardgate" Chrissy stirred that trouble up!!! to think Pat has left and we are STUCK with the nonentity that is Chrissy!!!

I don't think it changes anything at all - I think it was ridiculous in the first place to get upset about a joke!

Maybe she hopes some toy company will produce "Tedward bears" or maybe watching these reality shows makes me very cynical

Someone said it was because of her "Dead husband"
firstly, she never married, secondly she had a relationship with some guy called Johhny, that she separated from in the 1980's and he died 15 years ago.

I thought the bear sounded a bit recent, mainly because of the play on Tedward..Jedward thing.

I'm really saddened Pat was vilified because of this.
What a load of hype over nothing.
Shame on you Chrissy for stirring this up all.

i agree it was a load of hype over something fairly insignificant but it indicates what little else there is to talk about. in this series, essentially, nothing is happening.

Ah thank you! It doesnt make sense though as she should have 2 bears as there are 2 Jedwards!!!!

See link - where there is mention of Tedwood, her bear, in para. 6.

Nothing against Pat - don't know where he got 4 weeks from, though ! Article dates from this July.

It's horribly unfair to assume you know the significance the bear has to her.

Maybe one was stolen and that was why she was petrified of something happening to her only remaining bear.....

What difference does it make? People form attachments to teddy bears very quickly. I don't like these insinuations that Tedward is some kind of impostor.

And some people are just massive attention seekers.

Anyone who appears on that programme is by definition an attention seeker.

Why? What if they were broke, and desperately needed the money?

It makes no difference whatsoever.
He was nasty to her for the purpose of getting laughs and attention from the 4 youngsters and she is an over dramatic attention seeker.
Tedwards life span alters nothing

You're right. I hadn't thought it through properly.

So it's Tedwood, not Tedward!

She obviously has him longer than 4 weeks, where did that come from?

And Lorraine stated in the BT that she was listening to Pat belittle her and her love of the bear, so blaming Crissy is just ridiculous! Crissy probably confirmed what she thought she had heard, but didn't "stir it all up" at all! Pat's a prize tw*t, and showed himself up for exactly that, no point blaming anyone else!

I'm broke and desparately need money, I think I'll go on strike on Wednesday, just like everybody else.

By the way, I thought Lorraine gave an excellent interview, though very short. Ant and Dec wern't really interested in what she had to say.

6 BEAR NECESSITY

Tedwood, my little bear, was a replacement for a very dear bear who’d been my companion for 15 years. He was given to me by a partner, but when that era came to an end I had to give him back because it would have been too painful to keep him. I was so distraught I rang my dearest friend, Brian Crawford, who sent Tedwood to replace him. He’s proof that I have good friends and that life goes on.

I'm sorry but this will appear in the lovies column of Private Eye.

Unbelievable.

I definitely got that impression too. They do a good job of presenting the show but when they have to be spontaneous in interviews they can come a bit unstuck, especially if it's a contestant like Lorraine who was older and a bit emotional. I doubt they'll have any trouble interviewing Mark/Dougie/Emily or Jessica though eh?

Yes, shame about that.
They came across as quite awkward & embarrassed. Perhaps, their interviews should be scripted !! As you say- they do a good job presenting & never fail to amuse me.
I suppose they couldn't relate to a teary older woman. She became quite intense & they were unable to tease her.

Very true. Same thing with Stephanie Powers. They don't appear to have the ability to operate outside of their inane comfort zone (I mean that in a caring way!). Maybe there really are no hidden depths behind Ant and Dec's crass exterior.
