But the way X Factor USA is shaping up the US audience, raised on a diet of young Idol hopefuls, do not seem to understand or accept the concept of The Groups and The Overs in a singing competition, so these acts are falling like flies and it wouldn't matter who mentored them.

Er. Then why have we heard her acts thanking her personally in virtually EVERY VT package we've seen?

Virtually all contestants thank their mentor in the VTs.

Well she was MIA for one entire week while she was in the UK promoting a single and appearing on the UK show and she's missing this week because she's gone home to Hawaii. I don't get the impression she's exactly around much. Simon seemed to step in the first week she was gone and probably will this week.

Scherzinger's probably around alot, she does get praise in her VT's the contestants know she understands them. On the show they show clips of her with them and she does take her role seriously.
