He hasn't even warranted a Yay or Nay thread so I'm guessing folk were underwhelmed. I usually like him. He's got a proper old school voice but I confess this song did nothing for me and I drifted off rather. Disappointing when there have been so many genuinely duff performers that the guy who could have been good, wasn't.

Nay from me.

Shrek and Cee L Green. I'm spotting a theme.

I have never been impressed by him and can never understand why there is all the fuss about him.

I was so underwhelmed, I went out to make a cup of tea while he was on!

Nay.

Great talent with great songs but that's quite a few times now I've seen him live on telly and the live vocal has really not lived up to his recordings...

It was a great shell-suit he wore - looked like Paulie Walnuts from The Sopranos.

That's true actually. Best to stick to the studio recordings.

I agree OP except I think it is actually a good tune having heard it on the radio but Cee Lo wasn't on form - it was sung poorly live and as for his dance troupe - I thought that retro disco routine was really naff and the costumes the girls wore were awful - a pity the pros couldn't have been used for a routine to it!

I thought the song was repetitive and boring - the only decent one he's had out was ' Bright Lights Bigger City '. Unattractive man, and badly dressed - a huge Nay from me !

I'd never heard of him and have no intention of listening to anything else by him after that performance. Who on earth told him he could sing????????

.................although I do have very fond memories of Louisa and Vincent's jive to "Smiley Faces". One of my favourite dances on SCD.

That was the same guy, wasn't it?

Agree with your post Topaz. I turned the sound off after 10 seconds and then went and put the kettle on!

BIB - they looked like they'd been fashioned from Bacofoil!!

Terrible....hadnt heard of him. Underwhelming to the enth degree. Couldnt wait for it to finish.

It made me cringe when Claudia said how "fabulous" the singer was!!!

You must have heard "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley ?
That duo were Cee Lo Green along with Danger Mouse..it was voted the best song of the decade by Rolling Stone magazine. Some of his other stuff has also been very good, if you like that sort of thing.
He is very talented as a singer/songwriter and producer.
But I must admit, his performance on saturday was nothing special..they seem to insist on trying to put square pegs in round holes as far as guests go this year.

It's the Ray LaMontagne version probably that a lot of people will know... Terrific as it is.
I was really disappointed by his song and performance cos I like Cee Lo Green -- he's got a voice.

So far it's only Caro Emerald on the Results show that I've really loved and been fired up by.

I've never heard the Ray LaMontagne version - I know the original Gnarls Barkley version because it was at the top of the charts for something like 10 weeks!
