Great voice.... but I have a problem with her. She's a ticking time bomb. From what I've seen so far since this started & I'm sure I'm not the only one who's observed this, she's so insecure that she has to be told all the time she's good either by others or by herself combined with such emotional display of tears.

I don't know, but, she does seems to have some real problems which I fear will eventually surface as she get further into this competition.

I read that Rowetta, Steve, & Verity are Simon's top 3. The first 2 fine but Verity???? My opinion is that her style of singing doesn't really have a place in today's cut throat music businesss. She's a pleasant singer but that's about it, nothing special about her.

I'll be really surprised & disappointed if Lloyd is not in the top 3. I also think that guy (can't recall his name) Simon mentioned similar to R Kelly has potential to be a great singer ( don't forget they get voice coaching).

Given the above I would prefer it to be Steve, Lloyd, & that "R Kelly" guy, can comeone remind me of his name !!!!

I think its all been an attention seeking act.She is already a professional singer and just couldn't carry on like that.I strongly suspect that now she will totally calm down.It served its purpose though, didn't it?

His name is Odis

I would rather Rowetta in the final as she is a potential star.
Great tv.
A bit nutty, but a lot of stars are.
Look at Elton & Robbie Williams.

This show has been edited for tv.
If she was really THAT unstable, Simon wouldn't have her in the final.
We need to trust that he knows more than us.

I hope she wins it.

I'd like to see Rowetta, Lloyd & Odis in the final.

Steve's got a great voice, but looks amateurish on stage to me.

I disagree.
The first audition, I read she had a few too many drinks for dutch courage, and since then she has been asked questions about her personal life, which have upset her.

On Saturday's show, out of everyone, she looked like she wanted it the most.
Those tears were definitely real.
We only see what the show's editors, and Simon wants us to see.

I love her.
She's a breath of fresh air to the show.
Simon will probably help her calm down now, if she's in the finals.

She was backing singer with a rather mad band, and according to the papers the singer beat her up, and she was already a battered wife.

She's a survivor.
I hope she wins it.

I love Rowetta, I think she has a voice in a million. Yes, she appears to be a drama queen but she has had a rough life if reports are to be beleived (and looking at her insecurity I can beleive it) and she has come out of it as a survivor. She will win this competition and will win many fans on the way. Simon will calm her down and as she progresses in the competition she will hopefully gain confidence. I cannot wait to see her in Disco get up if they are to have themed weeks!!

I think Simon has a real dilemma with Rowetta. He really likes her singing (more than I do) but he knows she could be a liability. He must be asking himself if he could work with her, if the hassle would be worth it.

I disagree about Verity, i tihnk she has an Eva Cassidy quality about her. And I've siad it before, btu I'll say it again, I just don't get Odis. IMo his voice is really lacking, Lloyd on the other hand is fabulous.

Simon's heard more of Rowetta than we have, and if the papers are to be believed, she's his favourite to win it, so he must like her.
We will see next week, but I have a feeling he really likes her.
You could tell on Saturday's show.

He also liked Michelle & Gareth & look where they are now.

I like Rowetta's voice but that's about it. Can't really see her being in the thick of it all, short term maybe much like M & G & only due to the hype and short term emotional attachment of the viewers with the show.......but after that's die down... uhmmm

Ah ha!!!(sorry Alan Partridge slipped in there )
The difference IMO between MM/GG and the blessed Rowetta is that Rowetta HAS a genuine wealth of real singing live experience, and her life experiences just scream out of every note.
My support will probably hinder her,but this old PIV is taking this lass to his heart.
You are right about MM/GG though, short term hype and bigtime tripe(sorry couldn't help myself)I reckon if Rowetta stays away from the lager and valium then she'll be sweet as.
This always happens I should be working (self employed) and here I am on some DSF...I'll have to give myself the sack.

unfortunately some of the charm of rowetta has been lost now we know of her background. The woman has had a somewhat successful career already with the happy mondays, has toured worldwide and robbie williams has asked for HER autograph years ago! she even played HERSELF in 24 hour party people! I do believe that more will surface though so i'll be keeping my eyes and ears open. saying this, fortunately she does have an amazing voice (certainly one of the best in a competition where personalities are clearly dominating the selections) to match her huge character and i think, and hope she will do well.

Seems to me that she has had her chances. She has had the contacts that could have got her a solo career but it didn't happen. If she was good enough she would have had a contract years ago.

For all the messages good and bad.

To answer Zelena, there was an article in yesterday's Sun, which, although not totally correct, may answer some of your questions.

Gasp!!!

Is it her? Isn't it her? Has Rowetta left the building?

If you are not Rowetta - get a grip, grow up, behave, get therapy - whatever you need to address this need for deception and attention.

If you are Rowetta - I am having an attack of the guilties

People have been making a very, very valid point that the TV producers 'produce'; they will pick the clips that allow us to form opinions on folks (just or otherwise, but we can't help it! Folk are on the telly, for gawd's sake. Fair game...or not).

Having not walked in your shoes, and being the reflective sort that can shift opinions, and being reprimanded by Old PIV, I apologise for anthing wicked I've said.
