News today on DS could throw my predictions into the air.

This would be really, really, really great news, but I still hold some doubts over it.

The "70s set"? Oh you mean the brick frontage which was built in late 1969 (Ena and Minnie were photographed on it at Christmas that year) and was used until 1982? Your "70s" were very long weren't they? LOL!

It's called the 70s set because it was only really used for that decade, the 60s was filmed, for the majority of the time, indoors, the 80s was filmed for the most part on the current set

New update!

And in what decade to 10 of those 13 years take place? With which other decade are they more associated? It's not the 60s or 80s set is it?

Is coming along nicely now, am looking forward to the first set of photos showing the Street being laid and constructed.

Maybe they'll get someone like Bill Roach to put down the first cobblestone for a bit of a PR stunt?

"Underworld" looks massive - much bigger and taller than the current set.

The terrace also looks much 'taller', but perhaps the perspective is out. Once they've added roofs on, it'll be massive!

Are the bits in the middle that look like they're lying on the ground the beginnings of the salon and the three 'posh' houses?

Aye, it looks like the Underworld exterior will now match the size of interior, I think those beams are indeed for the new houses and salon too

The perspective does look a little strange, when I first looked at the pics, I thought Underworld looked a little small, but then I looked at the crane and realised

Just had a closer look at some of the other pictures and I can see the concrete foundations for the 'posh side' and the salon, with the steelwork sitting on top. I can also make out the beginnings of Roy's Rolls and the other shops on Victoria Street.

Unfortunately, the width of the streets doesn't look to be all that more substantial than on the current set. Rosamund Street and Victoria Street are criminally narrow for 'main roads' (both are meant to be busier than Coronation Street) and this shows on screen. It looks, at first glance, like the new set won't be an impriovement on the current lot.

I just realised, there's going to be a ship less than a street's length away from the Rovers lol

I was really hoping for a bigger set - wider street (s) and normal sized housing

Looking at it from this angle, I do think it looks a lot bigger compared to this

I mean, that milk float there looks as wide as two houses, on the new one, I'd say it's as wide as one
