I agree with you here. I still think any sets we see less of on screen (such as Emily's house and Rita's flat) should have been proper sets.

and wide, old terrace houses had very thin cement joints, and they didn't use reclaimed bricks with paint and soot on.
I couldn't help noticing all the shadows that were being thrown about tonight, particularly in Roy's Rolls, Sally's house and Anna's house. I found it a bit distracting actually.
Of course it's the new set tonight
all the street lamps have jumped to the back of the pavements and the rovers doors are bigger plus the lighting in the Rovers is not as good as usual but will get better.
Also we had the ladies loo!

The only problem is continuity as it won't match!”
True, though it will look better, to be honest, if they had put roofs on that backdrop too they could have ditched the viaduct. I notice last night they still used the Granada 'Weatherfield general' set.
Can they have a story now where the old railway viaduct is removed now they have put houses there could have a storyline where it falls down and kills some of the deadwood.

They could probably get rid of the one beside the Rovers at some point, since it looks like there's a new street behind it.

The viaduct is there to disguise the edge of the set, so it's here to stay.
The Rosamund Street viaduct has no real role in the show, as it's not meant to be there. If it did, it would run into the ginnel!

Although it's obvious it's brand new and much larger it looks much better.
Hopefully the new Rosamund Street facades will lead to newer development in the future for Freschos etc.
The former Granada Studios "Weatherfield General" location won't be on screen much longer, surely?
From what I can gather the Old Granada Studios company are using the car park by said filming location now!
