Lovely shot, Pyramidbread. Actually makes that poky corner of Victoria Street look like a real place!

this is the corner where on the quay street set they had valandros restaurant that leanne burnt down

it was a good wide angle, also the scenes in the nazirs and roys flat showed the forth wall

seems they are starting to show some wider angles which is good

It actually took me a second to realise where this was, not used to seeing the Rosamund St. viaduct from the opposite side

Think we've only seen it once maybe twice since they moved over to Media City from that area of the backlot?

Was a scene with Gemma & Kylie (I think!) walking around the corner to the Mawdesley Street facade buildings.

That is such a beautiful shot with all the lights. Marvellous.

Great work Corrie. Jordan Hogg is the director this week.

Neil Johnston is next week, if I remember rightly he did the week fo Kylie's death which had some great angles.

It makes you wonder why on earth we've never seen that angle before.

Directors stuck in their ways? If I were directing I'd be trying to use different angles all the time!

Definitely.

Stuck in there ways and under time pressure.

It looks simple but that shot would've been a lot of work to set up and would've had to have been fitted into the vast monster that is the Corrie filming schedule.

To put it bluntly, I don't think that directors have the space or freedom to make artistic decisions 90% of the time because everyone is hemmed in by tight filming and production schedules.

we are also seeing a lot more forth walls inside the houses / flats as well

now if they had put a front on maudsley street and shown that it would look even better

looking forward to the unveiling of the new parts of the set

And they are adding an extra episode

When the new set was being mooted we were told of how this would open up production and filming possibilities... it hasn't

At least they got rid of that ridiculously steep ramp and replaced it with a lift

give them a chance to build it. that is why Victoria street is closed off, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was the corry set

Am glad they are starting to show different angles on both the exterior and interior sets.

Wonder what the end of Victoria Street will look like as/when the scaffolding is finally removed?

Is this where the new set stuff will happen?

I think so, that's why there's been the grey tarpaulin there for what seems like ages now.

I think they should add a bowling Alley

Didn't it appear sometime around the time of the Victoria Court flats fire back in May 2015?

From this aerial shot of the new backlot it'd appear they were some kind of facade linked to the Bonded Warehouse frontage: http://i.huffpost.com/gadgets/slideshows/323021/slide_323021_3059062_free.jpg (source: Huffington Post U.K.)

Am surprised they've never used the back of Roy's Rolls as an additional filming location-would give the impression there are one or two characters living elsewhere from the Street.

Give them a chance?! They've been on the 'new' set for years now and it was planned long before that.

For me, their 'chance' came years ago when the first decisions were made regarding the set move. They should have gone for something completely revolutionary that really brought the show into the 21st century. Instead, they replicated all the issues and constraints of their existing set but on a slightly larger scale.

Slight clanger in last night's episode when Phelan was on the phone to Degsie.

Know the VC flats are a facade but a over the shoulder shot showed the wooden panelling was one dimensional...

This one was interesting, as it was actually inside a Mawdsley Street house

Great to see some new angles of the Street.

Mind they have been there long enough-three years in January!!

Lots of good angles lately.

Also was that the first time we were introduced to the 'Viaduct Shopping Centre'?

Which episode was this in if you don't mind me asking?

Noticed they filmed in Tyrone's kitchen on the backlot rather than the studio last week.

I noticed that too... it was a bit jarring though
