I have a PC based PVR with DVB-T tuner and none of the extra data channels are found so perhaps the data stream is on the DVB-T2 mux. It would have been interesting if it found the PC's Internet connection. It would be interesting if someone with a DVB-T2 card can get these channels to work.

No - there is no connection between Connect 1/2/3 and the DVB-T2 HD mux.

Correct, my DVB-T TV (with no T2 tuner) has picked up these channels.

Last night checked to see if my iCan box had picked up the new connect channels. I also noticed that the original connect channel had EPG listing from 23:00 hours for "China Central TV" and the listing ran all day today too.

Not checked if anything started "broadcasting" at 23:00, will check tonight when i get home. Connect might have other channels lined up for connect 1, 2 and 3?

Indeed. Although i checked last night and just got the connect coming soon screen. Although i did notice a change in the listings and it had something like "Platform Ad Break" IIRC, for a couple of hours. So doesn't look like it's going to be 24/7.

They came to hit a block with the name of Connect as they could never us Connect 4, so they may have use "Plus" "Gold" or Films Sports or others after Connect.

The 25kbps common data stream for these three channels has gone live today.

The caption looks identical to the CONNECT on Mux D / Arq A.

Not identical - there's a website address on the new ones - http://www.connect-tv.tv (which incidentally confirms they are now going for a one channel per LCN approach)

I was wondering what those Connect channels were! They showed up for me after I did a rescan, as the Belmont transmitter was supposed to have a signal strengthening boost last week. Unfortunately, the Connect channels are all I gained, so either the boost didn't happen, or I need a new aerial!

The boost occured at Belmont as planned back on the 23/11 at 1am. (See Yorkshire switchover thread) Viewers in Hull with a wideband aerial should be able to receive the whole selection of IPTV channels from channel 110 onward. If you can't... it's time to investigate closer to home...

It's not those channels I'm missing (like I said, the Connect channels turned up on the rescan, but nothing else new), it's Dave, Sky News, Pick TV, etc that's absent. An entire MUX. I probably do need a new aerial, but apparently it's £70?

What sort of aerial have you got now? £70 for what? A new aerial, fully installed by a professional on your roof (which would be a good price, although at that price it sounds like all of your existing mounting and cable would be used, which may not be a good idea) or just an aerial? (for which £70 is a lot)

I have Windows 7 Media Centre with a DVB-T/T2 PCIe card and these channels tell me I'm not compatible. So even though I have an internet connection and WMC supports MHEG it fails here. I guess I'm not "True" Freeview+ HD in their eyes.

Only BBC B (The PSB HD Mux) is DVB-T2 so these channels are on a DVB-T Mux but for some reason your not getting the LCN's listed.

AFAIK it's the Interaction Channel extensions to MHEG5 (MHEG5-IC) rather than HD transmissions that are required to receive these IPTV services.

Microsoft added basic MHEG5 support to media centre with the Vista TV Pack some years ago, I believe this was developed in Ireland as a special for UK users and it does not seem to have been updated for Windows 7.

It remains to be seen if Windows 8 will include support for MHEG-IC, but I think it's unlikely given the local nature of this standard.

I'm also disappointed that my one year old Sony HDTV does not support MHEG5-IC and there's no sign of a firmware update.
