DHD4000 (Yes, I know!) question
I still have my old 4000 active as a standby machine, but the poor demented soul still starts up every night at 0300 in the vain hope of finding 4TV Interactive. Does anyone know if this action can be disabled? I have tried the engineering menu but can't find anything obvious.

You could always switch it off at the wall.
Since the box has little recording functionality without 4TV, when built there would have been no reason to disable it. |

Timer switch so it's off at 3am?
There are options in the engineering menu (details on this forum) but IIRC they don't stop it doing anything at 3am. Although it might be worth trying using the last firmware. (Code is now 1004). http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=331693 Mine's been retired now although it's still in it's box for ad hoc or standby use. I've tested it after DSO and it will still record and playback (mine has new power supply capacitors and is back on it's original hard drive - the upgraded one died after 5 years heavy use). |
