Seriously though, who defines common? We don't all have the good fortune to be Home Counties and speak with plums in our mouths.

I remember a friend of my mum's who walked up the parth, to have a barth, cut herself and needed a plarster..... my mum asked her what did Jesus ride into Nazareth on ? Correct answer an ass ”

As far as I can tell she IS her Waterloo road character, that's all she can play. Which is bit concerning being as she's 23 and the character's 16. An actress of very limited ability it would seem.

I consider being born into a working class, half Welsh/half Northern family and having a damn good mixed Northern accent fantastic good fortune. Class has nothing to do with how "one" speaks

I'm a Southerner (I did once venture north of Watford but the natives were restless so I rushed back home) and I looked on with a certain open-mouthed horror (not a pretty sight) when, in the launch show, Chelsee jiggled around and announced, in a strong Northern accent, 'I'm single - and ready to mingle!' The malicious costume department had dressed her in the most appalling chavtastic style and I confidently predicted that the public wouldn't take to her and she'd be evicted at the earliest opportunity.

I was wrong. There, I've said it. In the weeks following that inauspicious start, I've been totally won over by her modesty, self-effacement and naivety. Every time she says, 'Oh, Pasha!' or 'Didn't we, Pasha?', it makes me smile. Add to that mix the fact that she's a good little dancer, with natural musicality and a feel for the dance that can't be faked (take note, Mr Donovan), and she's my favourite this year.

I'm still looking forward to a 'WOW' dance from her, though. The quickstep came close, but lack of training time and sickness have hampered her progress. I hope she gives Harry a run for his money and I shall certainly be putting my money where my mouth is and voting for her as soon as it matters.

And I couldn't give a toss that she speaks with a regional accent that's not the same as mine. So what?

As for the whole Chelsee love, I'm getting from these posts that it's all about natural flair, endearing personality and Pascha. I probably did answer my own question then I suppose.

BIB: I think she will give him a run for his money and wow us with her performances in the next couple of weeks. It'll be interesting to see how the other pros react to scores given out this week too - in particular Aliona's - a complete picture when Jason got one for his QS and again when Chelsee bagged one for her Foxtrot.

I'll also hold my hands up if she also disagrees with scores for the reason that she thinks the score might be too low but she often doesn't.

Are you suggesting she was coerced into saying 'I'm single and I'm looking to mingle' ???
I noticed on ITT tonight she made a comment on the swingathon VT along the lines of 'If they get in my way I'll just bounce them out the way with my big boobs' This from someone who was supposedly so upset about the merest hint of an exposed nipple. She strikes me as a very immature and naive 23 year old.

It’s not Chelsee’s acting, her dialect or her boobs that interest me. I didn’t know who she was when she started out on SCD but from her quickstep onwards I’ve enjoyed watching her dance each week. She‘s also a hard worker, self effacing and seem like a sweet kid. The McFly boy is good and he also seems like a nice boy whose mother can be proud of him but he’s not someone I can get enthusiastic over. He wants to do well and there’s nothing wrong with that but he dances rather like an automaton although that would be a very good automaton.

I like Chelsee because

1. She can dance, which in a dance show is more than handy.
2. She seems like nice girl.
3. She and Pasha get on which is more enjoyable to watch than say with couples that clearly don't (*cough* Lulu and Brendan).

She actually said "it's more competitive and I don't really like that, it's like I have to shove them out of the way with my booty".

Booty means bum so has nothing what so ever to do with breasts, your obsession with them seems to be getting the better of you!!!!

I also think it's really sweet how much she hates anything that comes close to being competitive with the others.

This is why I love her.

There seems to be a certain obsession there. I wonder what Freud would have to say.

I go along with a lot of people, I wanted her out first. I was horrified at the "I'm single and ready to mingle". I was fully expecting her to get on my nerves until she finally would live.

Then I saw her waltz and I had to concede that she should not go out. I also have to say that the whole "single/mingle" bit seemed to be a front, put up by someone who seems to be surprisingly shy.

I do like her relationship with Pasha, but I don't fancy Pasha.

I love her dances and I want her in the final. However, I'm able to enjoy other celebrities as well (Harry's quickstep was fab, I loved a lot of Jason's dances etc.).

She's lovely, can dance, has a figure and is pleasant and cheerfull, good luck to the girl, she has done everthing they have thrown at her with a smile and her and her "Pash" deserve to do well,

Because she's a simple soul with no 'side'?
No showbiz luvviness.
She reminds me of Beryl in the Liver Birds. Naive, honest, open, not exactly Mastermind-material, charming, funny.

That's because she's "single and looking to mingle" Anyway she strikes me as being far too dim to be competitive.

....hmm...why not...

Very likable, funloving personality; which is a refreshing change from borefest 'Harold' or 'can't you just stop talking unless you have something interesting or unpredictable to say' Jason

It shouldn't be that much of a stretch. I mean she has gr8 chemistry with Pasha and even without actually having reached her full dancing potential YET, is at the top of the leaderboard most every week (in both Ballroom & Latin).
Spells success to me....

All those rather personal comments on how she looks or speaks is to no importance to me:sleep: I mean I have my hands full with Tess in that department

I agree. I'm from Lancashire and lived here almost all my life except for a brief stay over 't Pennines in Yorkshire! So I suppose I must have a northern accent. However, I DO find Chelsee's voice irritating - not so much the accent as the tone - and when she starts a sentence and then doesn't finish it; just says..."yeah", it drives me mad!

But i do like watching her dance.

Tess " So Bruno wants you to be badder - can you do badder ? "

Chelsee " Of course I can be badder, I just don't know if I can do it on the telly! "

Genuine howls of laughter from the studio audience ! People warm to her naturally. She is what she is, a very young 23 yr old, a bit ditsy and immature, without artifice or grandeur. She can't help having a strong Mancunian accent anymore than Alex has a strong Welsh one. I think she's enjoyable to watch with Pasha, and that quickstep they did was fantastic.

I'm a Southerner living in Yorkshire and personally I'm fond of Northern accents (all you Southerners out there shouldn't make the mistake of thinking everyone sounds the same in the bit between Newcastle and Birmingham ). I actually like the fact that Chelsee shows up Tess's accent for the diluted phony mess it is.

Chelsee does seem to be essentially a sweet, decent, down-to-earth girl. The things she says and does that grate on me (constant playing with her phone, blurting things out without thinking) are more, I think, because she's 23 and not mature or media savvy than due to any sort of personality defect on her part.

But I don't admire any SCD celebs if they can't dance, and as far as I'm concerned she's proved her credentials there several times with a fab waltz, quickstep, samba and Charleston, to name but four. She has every right to claim the public's affection for those dances alone.
