1. She appears to be a humble, sweet, down-to-earth individual.
2. She's a naturally talented dancer.
3. Her partnership with Pasha is incredibly endearing, and one of the most natural [and best] of the series.
4. She gets quite a bit of slack from people regarding her appearance and accent, which only serves to increase sympathy and support for her.
5. I couldn't think of a fifth

Appears to me most on these postings vote on likability and nought to do with dance or overall entertainment
Chelsee is the real deal in natural dance ability
Harry is the real deal and 100% committed to detail
Holly is the real deal in composure and potential (but behind in progress)
Jason is the real deal in effort and correctness but struggles with required composure in top and presentation
Alex could surprise yet but behind all above
Robbie is Robbie
Suggest we all now judge on performance and avoid side issues”

Agree with all but this - Harry needs to sort his hands out - his thumbs/hands drive me crazy.

I tell you what, the more and more she appears to get up the noses of some people on here, the more popular she's getting with me!

Surely that's a cause for applause?

I don't either but they are still people (well mostly) with insecurities that can drive them do to dumb things - I feel saddened rather than irritated that she felt the need for surgery at such a young age where were the people tell her she was attractive enough without it?

That's not completely true. The technique of the dance specially at this level, is not down to interpretation. There is a wrong or right way of doing the steps, and a better or worse way, and it is clear to all those who have the expertise which contestant is technically better and which isn't. And in a dance competition technique is the main point of comparison.

Where the difference in opinion comes in is musical interpretation, the performance, and the artistic side of dancing. And it becomes harder to compare contestants on the basis of this.

Anyway, what I meant by my long-winded post (I guess I'm more of a Jason than I thought I was!!!) is that if the votes where only down to public, favourite characters would still get voted through ahead of better dancers.

This is particularly true with seemingly popular professionals. I can see no other reason Nancy hung about as long as she managed were it not for Antons apparent popularity

Thankfully Pasha seems a popular addition to the professional line up

So let me get this right, throughout the entire series of strictly, your favourite has always been the best technical dancer? Do you not consider that some celebs have had no dance training at all, while others have years of experience behind them? For me it is about watching people learn to dance - if they were perfect from day one they should be a professional! I'm not going to use the 'j' word, but...

You make a valid point - which is why Chelsee epitomises everything that is best about SCD.

Fun personality, great rapport with her partner and such amazing progress for one with no previous dance experience.

Does this mean she'll now get your vote.

Haha actually since I posted the original question she has grown on me a lot! Maybe it's all the positive comments about her - I'm sure some kind of psychological theory could be applied here

What's appalling is that the so called medical personnel involved obviously have no interest in the persons welfare only making a quick buck. Same applies to those that pump poisons into peoples faces.

I do agree to an extent but at the end of the day, it's still subjective. My dancing teachers are a former husband and wife pro partnership who constantly disagree about who the better dancer is. I don't claim anywhere near the knowledge that they have but having danced ballroom and latin for years I wouldn't call myself clueless and I also disagree with them sometimes. No-one who knew anything about dancing would say that Russell is better than Chelsea lol but when it comes to comparing the high end talents of say Jill Halfpenny verses Kara Tointon, it will always come down to personal preference.

Come off it, you can't seriously bracket those two together.
Chris may not have deserved to win purely on technical merit, but by the end of the series he could dance.

Back to Chelsee. I think she is almost a certainty to top the judges' leader board tonight with her jive, and Harry may have to be content with third place behind Jason.
I don't really care that much who wins. I'm not a particular fan of anyone, and there's nobody left in this year's line up that I detest. It may not be a classic year on Strictly, but in terms of being a wide-open competition I think it's been one of the best. Harry best last week, Chelsee (I'm guessing) best this week, with Jason capable of coming up on the rails to beat both of them.
