The producers want Cotton to win cos he's already on ITV.

He is in Corrie, the producers will love it if he wins. It is a no brainer. Cotton wins, Corrie will be spouting about this for ages, more viewers for ITV, as I said no brainer.

Also, Cottons rich co stars will be voting in their droves for him, that's why he will stay as well.

I get what you mean totally - but I really REALLY don't think he's got a winner's edit. Every episode has got him being horrible...do you really think that he's going to win now?

This assumes they like him.

More like Mark, they want him to win, its just like Amy Child in BB, wasn't she popular and now she's got her own show, they probably want him to win to give him his own show on ITV.

They really aren't showing him in a very positive light, so I don't think this is true.

Coronation Street is a fictional series. How would they be spouting about Antony winning if he was to do so?

Also, how much do you think soap actors actually make?!

Err they make quite a lot actually. Even the younger one who plays Sophie Webster, has a £30.000 merc.

Last I read, was that young actors earn around 50 to 60k, a year. Veteran stars can earn between 100 and 200k. Which I'll agree isn't exactly nothing, but I wouldn't call them "rich".

What a ridiculous theory. ITV likes to make new celebs with this show that can turn up all over the place and do "Star" appearances on Saturday night.

By being in Corrie Cotton is probably contractually obliged to do all that ITV1 "Star" crap already. So the channel gains nothing by him winning.
