I just don't get it

The program is highly edited (24 hours of action in to an hour) - so yes, he probably does moan but does he moan more than anyone else? We don't honestly know. He swears - but does he do it more than another person? We don't know. Does he really grab all the air-time? We don't know. He certainly doesn't know what's going to be highlighted or not. If we are to believe the highlights, then as far as I can tell, Willie doesn't move hardly at all and Mark and Dougie only get up to eat.... and if that's the case, who's voting to save these lazy buggers!

Some of the venom that's being spouted on this forum makes the posters no better than what they're calling Anthony Maybe it's time to get a grip....

I've just been a lurker on this forum so far but I'd have to agree - I just don't get the total Anthony hatred that's going on in here, it's bordering on the ridiculous. I like him, okay he can be annoying and he has his faults (who doesn't?) but at least he's entertaining. I would much rather watch him go off on a rant about something than focus even more on Mark and Emily's "romance" (which would surely be shoved down our throats even more if Anthony leaves). Maybe he's had too much screentime for some people, but what else are they going to show? Crissy sitting on her backside smoking all day?

I agree with you and in not so many words have said the same. But all I get is that I must be a fan of Anthony LOL!

Nothing could be further from the truth I'm not a fan of any one of them in there. But I think it's disgusting some of the things that are written. Dare you stick up for someone that others are flaming because in your opinion you don't see it the same way as they do. It's like the pot calling the kettle black. A lot of the dreadful comments that are thrown Anthonys way, are some of the bitchiest I've ever read. Go figure

Basically, if you don't like Antony and you can't watch the guy take over the show - which he is clearly doing - don't watch. You can't vote him off but you can vote with your remote.

I can't stand him so I no longer watch. He's wrecked it for me.

The problem with Anthony is he can give it, but not take it. It's alright in his eyes for him to tell others "just being honest" but when anyone approaches him about his own shortcomings he goes into massive strop and cannot take it.

His only reason for demanding attention from Mark is that he thinks that as so many girls love Mark, he will also gain sympathy from Mark's fanclub.

Well they show the most entertaining things in the airtime I would imagine..which is why he takes up a lot of the airtime. I can take him staying longer than Fatima and Willie even though I'm not a fan of him.

I don't hate Anthony Cotton at all. He is being himself, putting on NO act for the cameras. He is sensitive (about himself) and finding it all a bit much. He provides a bit of controversy and entertainment. I don't want him to win but he is quite interesting.

I like him, he is probably my favourite.

I wouldn't go as far as saying I hate him, although after last night's episode I just find him a very creepy man. The way he sulked over not being cook, the way he reacted when Dougie was put in the stocks and the most disturbing of all, the way he cuddled up to him after bursting into tears and wandering off. It actually made me cringe. He's a grown man but appears to have the mental attitude of a very young, spoilt child. When Corrie's on and he's in it, I don't know if I could bear to watch.

I'd love to see him in Celeb BB. I think he'd be a great housemate.

It's the same on the Coronation Street threads in the Soaps forum on here - Anthony (and his character Sean) get more abuse than any other actor/character.

He's an odious little man.

He accuses others of his own faults and flaws and loads the bullets for others to fire. He is the most passive aggressive person in there.

I mute him. lol. There is a sizable number of Corrie fans who were upset his character wasn't hit by the tram last year....

And all these explosions and tantrums followed by the crying and docile behaviour. Surely he's the passive aggressive.... the food issue he had with Fatima's meal was a definite sign.

I didn't know that, about fans' feelings towards him in the tram crash. TBH I actually quite liked his character until I saw him in Celebrity. I can't believe he's still in there. I hope he doesn't win because he doesn't deserve to.

One of the best ways to treat folk like that is usually to ignore them. If every time he takes 'centre stage' he thinks he has an audience watching him he will continue (audience as in his fellow camp mates). If, when he goes off on one of his hissy fits and he finds the auditorium is empty he may get the message. Either that, or stand up to him. After all, he can't get into a huff anymore than he already does. Can he?

He's aggressive, self-centred, foul mouthed, bitchy, nasty, sly, a drama queen and will do absolutely anything to be centre of attention.

Is that enough reasons for you, OP?

I agree the only reason he gets so much "dislike" is because he is a VERY dislikable person OP!
