HDD unavailable

sorry if this has been dealt with .i switched on my humax pvr and it took over 3 mins to boot;.a message appeared 'HDD'unavailable' --media button now inactive .i shut down and rebooted the same thing happened .i did a factory reset no change. i then went to systems and i cant access HDD system.does anyone know what has happened and more importantly how can i resolve the issue?[my pvr has turned into a hd receiever}

If the box is out of warranty. Remove the lid and unplug the HDD drive cables and replace them again firmly. Disconnected from the mains of course.

If the box is still the same it may be that you need a new HDD.

If your unit is out of warranty and you decide to follow Graham's instructions and open your PVR then on this website they have a couple of pictures of what it looks like when you take off the cover. The big black thing on the left is where the HDD is located. You can click on the image to enlarge it. You can also follow the instructions there to replace the HDD should that be necessary - it's quite easy to do. Good luck.

i still have the problem of''hdd not available'; disconnected and reconnected--nil; then i replaced the hdd-yes i checked with other fora which to get--still zilch.any ideas?
