Quick question about the Humax HDR
CPN
29-11-2011
For various reasons, I want to revert my HDR from a twin cable input to a single cable input. Does anyone know of a quick way to do this without having to resort to a full factory reset of the box? (which, I presume, apart from losing all my scheduling will also wipe the HDD as well...)

Remove the second cable and insert the loop cable.

Either do a factory reset (no affect on existing recordings). You will have to do a new schedule anyway as some not be be possible with only one recording.

or

Enter the setup menu

Press Red Green Yellow Blue Green Yellow Blue.

Change connection type to one cable

Excellent, thanks Graham

Having just had a look, any idea what the difference is between "Two cable same" and Two cable different"? I noticed that ours has been set to "two cable same" all the time when it is coming from a quad lnb but then "same" & "different" may refer to the lnb? (hence dish?)

Another thing, you referred to "the" loop cable, implying that one came with the box originally and I had thought that that was the case but couldn't remember? If I did have one, blowed if I can find it... (I made one up anyway)

No loop cable provided. Two cables (same) means both lnbs are aligned on the same orbital point (a must if it's one twin, quad or octal lnb). Different means that more than orbital location is involved (eg 28E and 19E). Enables usals/diseqc switching in non freesat mode.

Right, thanks for confirming that and I'm glad to know that I'm not going nuts looking for a none existent loop cable!!
