Let's hope for his sake that he's better at overtaking at this track than Fernando.

Yes, or it'll probably be a different finger he's waving at people at the end of the race.

Or rather how poor he is is at it. Overtaking the slower cars doesn't count, they are easy for that RB.

Why on earth do teams do it. It could be that this is an example of what they have been up to making it seem they or Vettel are so far ahead. Webber did ok on fair levels and they just cannot resist taking one chance more to desperately try and be at the front.

One thing for sure, the bitching on the radio is an indication things are under some pressure and should this be instrumental in leading to Vettel not winning WDC, then the pre-contract he may hold with Ferrari, will be out and signed!

I can't believe Red Bull took such a risk at such a time. Hopefully some great overtaking and a safety car or two can help Vettel get on the podium still.

Think a podium is out of the question, will get into the points though.

Question about Paul Di Resta

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mot...ive-in-F1.html

Is he really an "excellent" driver? Or is it because he's British he gets more favourable press.

His best performance came at the 2012 Singapore GP
In 2011 Sutil out performed him and so far in 2012 Hulkenberg is looking the better of the 2 drivers and has landed himself a Drive at Sauber.
People will point that he's still a Rookie but younger drivers are performing better season.

Im not trying to knock the lad i just think the media bigging him to be better than he is at "present" can be detrimental to his progress in F1. He has shown he's more than capable, he just needs to work on getting the results he can with the car he's got and im sure he'll land a bigger drive.

And i'd have Di Resta in F1 10x more than pay driver Karthikeyan .

Di'Resta isn't exactly a duck, he has won a well contested DTM championship.

Karthikeyan isn't a particularly breath taking driver but the guy has done the rounds in a few of the lesser formulas and isn't some spoilt fantasist putting people in danger. It's odd you would single him out of the numerous pay drivers.

If teams need the every piece of investment to get by, and it is a business, they are perfectly entitled to pursue legal avenues.

It's very easy to be snobby as a spectator.

We shouldn't forget that drivers like Coulthard and the other Schumacher dabbled in DTM and failed where di Resta triumphed so there's no doubting his ability.

I think his biggest "flaw" is that he's currently too willing to "tow the line" for his team.
The FI isn't a terrific car. It's got a good engine and average aero' and the team seem to prefer to just trundle around and attempt to scavenge a couple of points and di Resta usually just drives in a manner befitting those aspirations.

When, for example, Kobayashi got his first drive I remember seeing him really "going for it" and thinking that he looked like a guy who deserved a shot in F1.
Even though his recent performances haven't been particularly impressive there's still that first-impression that he is a guy who's got the ability and the spirit to make a good F1 driver.

That's where di Resta risks coming to grief IMO.
Because he's been so willing (as far as I can see) to drive the FI to a points-scavenging finish so much of the time he isn't really doing a great job of showing off his own skills.
There's never been any real stand-out moments in his F1 career which might make people think he's any more worthy of a seat than half the other journeyman drivers on the grid.

He needs to get himself into a position where he can fight with somebody like Vettel, Alonso or Hamilton, even if it's only for a couple of laps (perhaps because somebody's pitted early or whatever), and really showcase his abilities cos at the moment he sort of comes across as being a bit of a testing drone.

think Vettel will struggle overtaking as the RBR is the slowest down the straight 311ks

people like senna are a lot quicker 323ks so unless his DDRS is working well he may have trouble

bit like fred did in 2010?

Looking forward to today's race. Vettel starting at the back definitely spices things up.

I'm no Fernando fan but I'll be cheering him on today.

Shame for Red Bull that their other man is the last driver on the grid who would agree to any nefarious plot to engineer a convenient safety car.

Great work from Alonso, with Vettel now damaging his wing, Fernando has to try and get as high as he can.

I think DC was right about Kimi, he did seem a bit cautious there, which race was it early in the season when the same happened?

So that will allow Seb to get right on the tail of the next few cars.

Oh lordy!

Schuey ramming another car again.
It must be cos he's senile and going blind and lost his reflexes.

Oh, wait...

Pretty wacky race so far.

*EDIT*
Oh, Vettel getting all shouty.
