Schumacher's modus operandi is to blame everybody else when things don't go his way. He blamed DC, when it was he who went up the back of DC's car at Spa in 1998. Then to go on to accused DC of attempted murder. Hardly the actions of a sportsman. My guess was that he was trying to get DC's points deducted, or even banned. DC still remained a threat to the championship, at that point, so the best way to eliminate him from the running, was to get points deducted, not to have the opportunity to earn any more, or to have everything taken away.

![]() I was never a fan of Schumachers games but you can't live in the past forever and there's no denying the level of driving skill he had. |

Say what you want about Schumacher, he is one of the greats. His record and skill back that up. |

Must be great for $ky to be able to poach almost all their presentation team from the BBC.
Ted Kravitz, who I always thought the BBC didn't make the most use, Martin Brundle, David Croft, Anthony Davidson, Natalie Pinkham. Although I don't doubt that they will probably do a good job, the fact that they can ship in some of the proven and established BBC F1 team must be a great help. Rider  will be the weakest link, he became so tedious on the Beeb. |

I prefer to think of them as among the best in the business and wanting the opportunity to take TV coverage of motorsport to a new level. |

In conditions like they had that day the racing line is not the same as it would be in the dry and there can be several equally best lines round any particular corner as anyone with any racing experience knows.

Steve Rider is only doing the Legends series of interviews over the season and what I've seen of them so far they are pretty good.

Cannot blame them for moving but have to feel for the Beeb, when even their main commentator isn't a really well known voice, and their radio presenters and commentators have been virtually stripped bare. ![]() Ahhh well time moves on, we have to be thankful that F1 never goes back to the ITV days. Advert breaks in the middle of races and their grim team of Jim Rosenthal and the likes of Blundell, mind you Damon Hill almost matches him  on Sky atm!!! ![]()

Except MS ran into the back of DC on one of the straights at the back of the circuit, on the downhill section before Pouhon iirc. DC was on the right side which was clearly the wrong place to be.

It was DCs fault. He was retiring from the race, he was not lapping at race pace. When this is the case, you drive of the racing line, you do not stay on the racing line. This is basic racing 101. At least DC had the sense to keep his helmet on when Schumacher came to knock his lights out.

Yeah....not only a cheat, but a thug, to boot.

I do see your point, and the fact that when they did leave the BBC they knew that Sky would be throwing the kitchen sink at their new channel, and producing some in depth and comprehensive coverage.

Domenicali is putting on a good bluff that there is no pressure to get a huge step in performance urgently. Fry has clearly produced a flunky of a car in design, trying to mimic a previously successful car from last year, being ideas in the RB7. To suggest they can catch up with a donkey, when Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes start well ahead and have massive resources to jump beyond even being in their dirty air.
The decline with these clowns in such that Di Montezemelo will lose patience sooner than you will imagine and without a B spec in the pipeline, write off the season and probably repeat hs threat to withdraw eventually, as the restrictions, he feels, is hurting them more and causing them to not be able to do what they did in the past successful period. Then again they assembled a great team and had completely unlimited resources to run a test team equivalent to the back end of the pit lane. To be summoned to explain after winter testing bodes badly despite the public spin being suggested that all is coming together slowly and is acceptable. I'll be amazed if changes aren't already advanced as something is missing and has been for some time now. |

After first 3 FP sessions I've yet to see a Ferrari complete a single lap without losing the rear big-time at least once.
Seems that RBR are still "experimenting" with their rear wing and diffuser although it could just be that they're simply not fitting the car with the whole race-spec rear until quali'. Mclaren and RBR look pretty tame and quick. Mercedes seems quick but it's caught both Schumacher and Rosberg out a couple of times. Not seem much from Lotus except that Grosjean snuck in 2nd fastest lap in FP3. |

Alonso and Massa out in Q2. Alonso 1sec slower than Rosberg and Massa 2 seconds slower.
Realistically, there's no way they're gonna be able to drive those Ferrari's for 2 hours tomorrow without making a mistake and ending up in a wall. Merc's seem genuinely fast. RBR not shining yet. |

Woot!
![]() Lewis on pole. Button 2nd and Grosjean putting the same Lotus in 3rd that ickle Kimi couldn't even get past Q1. Webber outqualifies Vettel too, for 5th and 6th. Merc's do look like they're going to be a threat, for a while at least. |

Exciting qualies but very disappointing from a personal level. I knew Ferrari weren't going to be amazing but wow. Just keeping my fingers crossed that Alonso will learn to tame the car as I know he's more than capable.. well, maybe after binning it a few times.
![]() Button made up for things a bit though with P2! |

![]() I genuinely can't imagine anybody being able to drive that without making a mistake for 2 hours. I see they're trying to say Kimi would have been up there with Grosjean which is actually nonsense cos all his sector times, even the ones where he didn't make a mistake, were half a second down on the leaders. I see Lotus are going to appeal the Merc' "F-duct". Gonna be interesting to see Vettel demonstrating his skill at overtaking tomorrow. |

It certainly doesn't look like it'd be any disgrace to Alonso or Massa to stick that car in the hedge.

Well surprises gallore in that quali session. Good to see the Mclarens on the front row and a fair bit ahead but its a right mix behind them. Lotus will be chuffed with 3rd but where on earth was Kimi? When was the last time Webber out-qualified Vettel? Its certainly going to be closer this season by the looks of things although I suspect the Mercs will be a bit slower in the race with limited DRS.
I see RB & Lotus have protested about Mercs rear wing, or the duct that is revealed when DRS is activated. Not sure how much of a case they have and it doesn't appear to be giving them a huge advantage. Ferrari are going to have a long, hard season. Massa's days are numbrred and I wouldn't be hugely surprised to see him replaced mid-season unless he improves massively. Alonso at least showed he can drive a bad car to a fair time although binning it in the same place as Massa had previously is not going to go down well in the garage. Overall a good start to the real season. |
