One other thing...
Not at all keen on this malarkey where lapped cars get to pass the safety car.
Seems, to me, that ANY system where you're trying to line the cars up in race order is a needless PITA because it requires drivers to figure out where they're supposed to be, who they're supposed to pass and what their position in the queue should be.
Seems much more straightforward (and fairer) to just stack them up behind the safety-car in whatever order they happen to be in.
I mean, if, for example, Button has previously had to lap 2 or 3 cars under race conditions and, possibly, has lost time because of it, why the hell SHOULD they be allowed to clear off back in front of him when the safety-car is deployed, thus giving Vettel a clear run at Button at the restart AND forcing Button to pass them again later on when he's already bloody-well done it once?!
Basically, if you stack the cars up in order of track position it means everybody has to make all the passes they would have had to make if the s/c wasn't deployed.
And then there's the issue of safety.
Having cars filtering through the snake while the leaders are frantically weaving from side-to-side to keep heat in the tyres is surely going to lead to an accident sooner or later.
Might not seem like that big a deal in Oz but imagine what it's gonna be like when the Marussias and HRTs are filtering past the s/c at a track like Spa or Sepang in the pissing rain?
