There was nothing dodgy about the maps. A clarification/change of rule has taken place, thus the maps are now illegal.

A bit silly to introduce rule changes mid-way through a season, but this is F1. Much better to issue a set of rules that will apply for the whole season. Any holes like this should be tighten before the start of the next season. Otherwise any clever gains that people think of are negated. Which IMO is wrong.

Nobody's forcing them to develop controversial upgrades mid-season.

It's not like the situation with blown diffusers, where the FIA signed-off all the cars pre-season and then decided to ban it mid season.

Both.

It's like, does anybody really believe that the big, daft, duct in the nose of the RBR is only there to provide cool air to the cockpit?

Some you win, some you lose.

There's one report that RBR were caught with a hand adjustable ride height system in Canada, and were quietly asked by the FIA to stop using it.

http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/f...n-5305748.html

If the report is true, you have to wonder why it was kept so quiet. It would mean that RBR have broken atleast two technical regulations (hand adjustable suspension not allowed and ride height) and sporting regulations (no modifications in parc ferme conditions between quali and the race).

Also, it might explain RBR's ability to have amazing quali and race pace since 2010. With the car sitting so low in quali that the floor was often bottoming out during quali, it always made me wonder how the car just didn't drag along the ground when it was full of fuel.

Yep, there's a lot of bad vibes towards RedBull in the paddock at the moment apparently.

So who has a sore head this morning?

Right back to F1 - what have I missed? - Oooo! Naughty Red Bull!

Through to Q3 though unlike Mark Webber.

Hopefully we will see Lewis on poll at this rate.

Now that's better from Lewis! Now if he can just finish the race!

Bit worrying to hear Martin Whitmarsh saying "Well, the tyres are quite unpredictable so I try not to think about them" in an interview.

Seems like the McLaren has the pace to win tomorrow but if it destroys the tyres quickly it's not gonna help.

Funny the way Maldonado's off brought so much dust onto the track that it rendered the first half of Q3 a waste of time and then he (?) went and did the same thing again towards the end.

Button may have beaten Hamilton last year but that was mostly Lewis' own fault.
When both cars are on track together Button rarely has the pace to match Hamilton.

I dont think there is any truth to that report. If the other teams got wind of it, we would certainly of heard about it. At the very minimum, they would have been heavily fined, if not thrown out this season (according to Martin Brundle on Sky).

As Horner said in an interview on Sky, its nothing new in F1, the top team gets 'picked' on. When Ferrari were winning it was them. Now its RB, its their turn. When team X becomes the top dog, it will be their turn. Par for the course.

I got a feeling its going to be a boring race tomorrow. An easy win for Hamilton looks on the cards. Vettel and a Lotus to be on the podium as well.

Red herring probably...an easy win for Hamilton.

That is a bit disingenuous to Button. Button out drove him last year. Had Hamilton well beaten. Although I do agree Hamilton was busy sulking that his girlfriend left him for part of the year. That may have had an affect on him - but shouldnt have.

Apart from last week. Hamilton is the better driver of the two. At least Button isnt a quitter. There is a lot to be said for that.

Not sure how a puncture causing Hamilton to end up a lap down on the leaders really equates to being "on track together".

Must admit, I'm not a fan of giving up but it has to be said that, given the final result, it could be argued that Hamilton actually called it correctly.
All he did was put miles on an engine and gearbox for no personal gain.

Course, for ultimate karmic payback he'll suffer an engine or gearbox failure tomorrow.

With the rain cancelled I think this will be a snooze fest. Unless Alonso can make some quick moves it will likely be a Ferrari disaster race. Easy 1, 3 for the Macs at least.

Yeah found it weird why they saying rain when there barely a cloud in the sky (Unless it springs up from absolutely nowhere)

Hope Lewis gets a good start and doesn't mess it all up!

It can all be decided by the first conner.

Don't understand why the Tv director is focusing on Vettel making no real impressions on passing Button when Grosjean/Hamilton looks far more interesting.
