GET IN MARUSSIA!!!
![]() Was jumping around like a loon when i saw Senna's car was out. An amazing season for a team that didn't make preseason testing, to push forward with some brilliant updates and catch up to a Caterham that seemed to be leaving them behind, eat that Fernandes! Viva Marussia!!!! ![]() Quote:
Hehe, indeed.
"Seb, we've been looking at the telemetry and we think that a 5% increase in brake bias toward the front might reduce the rear-limiting nature of the Singapore race. We've run the simulations and they suggest it'll work as long as we can run the suspension with an extra 5% of preload and 3 more clicks of rebound damping. What do you think?" "Erm, I want a crash helmet that lights up" ![]()

Yeah, 12th is just the beginning
dont be such a tit and see how a team has pushed itself forward over the space of the year and is trying to catch upto and get on an equal status as the mid table teams, its only been 3 years. let me guess, you look at front of grid only when watching f1 and dont look at who drives well, which teams have improved, just who wins |

Hard luck to Hamilton, I reckon he probably would have won the race, but he was definitely getting the most out of the McLaren as it was - Button was miles slower for some reason, it was never a race once Hamilton was out. McLaren really need to sort out their reliability! For those saying Hamilton should just have taken the penalty and dropped to 6th on the grid, Webber started 7th and finished 10th, and DiResta really only finished 4th because others had problems, despite his good drive, so I can see why McLaren wanted to hang onto their pole position and take the chance.
Decent drive from Vettel, and another solid one from Alonso as well. Not sure who my money would be on for the title if I was a betting woman, possibly Alonso still at the minute, but if Raikkonen could manage a victory or 2... Good performance from Massa, but I doubt it'll be enough to keep him at Ferrari next year. Perez, Kobayashi and Hulkenberg did themselves no favours though by having a couple of stupid laps that wrecked their races, and Webber's season is sadly getting steadily worse. The less said about Schumacher the better, I may be sceptical but I'm not convinced that crash was caused by a mechanical issue rather than just driver error... |

Why not? Force India have done it, Red Bull have done it and countless other teams over the years, all you need is a close knit team, a hard work ethic and abit of luck. just like Marussia have had today, you don't go from fighting with the HRT's at the start of the season to Scrapping with the Caterhams who have KERS, which Marussia dont have till next year without hardwork and luck.

But all of those teams you mention had it easier than Caterham, HRT and Marussia did. These three were completely new teams, built from the ground up. Unlike teams like Red Bull and Force India which were existing teams.

Gutting for Lewis Hamilton. Gearbox failure. The McLaren is another fast but fragile car.
Good result really for Alonso but he didn’t look happy on the podium and I think this will be because Ferrari was off the pace all weekend and he knows this is a problem. Ferrari need another step improvement or even scraping the championship is not going to be possible. |

Yeah, great drive from Di Resta. He's had a few 6ths/7ths/8ths etc. He's skipped the 5th and went straight to 4th. Next stop the podium

Looks like Hamiltons problem were his own fault. Martin hinted when he hit the wall yesterday, he could well of damaged the gearbox (or associated bits). Mclaren (more likely hamilton) screwed up, and should have taken a 5 place drop to change the gearbox. He had the pace, he could still have finished 3/4th instead of DNF.
Great win for Vettel..and his amazing lights

Pleased for Di Resta and Marussia.
Gutted for Webber, especially now he's had a 20-second deduction. |

Schumacher suggesting his throttle may have stuck causing no speed decrease and why he had to jump so hard to try and slow before collision. Given this, perhaps it was as ridiculous as they sounded for the clowns at Sky including Croft and Brundle to call for him to quit as his eyesight may not be good enough or he's showing poor reactions due to his age. Bunch of idiots and should be more impartial to all and not so McLaren mouthpieces or stuck so far up the driver's bottoms. Envy is an unpleasant characteristic and it's not as if they don't make errors ever.

Sky are pro british drivers, especially button and hamilton. it just so happens they drive for mclaren. Sky keep the big teams sweet, so they get the big interviews etc. A case of you scratch my back and l scratch yours. |

... appears not have been supported by the evidence put before the stewards and so he was give a ten place penalty and this was the latest of many such incidents this year then it seems reasonable to question if his fading faculties are up to the job any more.

Actually it was only croft who asked the question. Brundle did no such thing. He actually said that Schumacher may have been adjusting something in the car or looking else where.

So if it was what Brundle was suggesting as possible, it is being just as daming. |

If anybody cares, Webber has been given a penalty for, I think, gaining an advantage by going off the track right at the start.
Seems a little harsh to wait until after the race to do that rather than give him a drive-through and give him the opportunity to recover if it was for the incident right at the start. I didn't see him go off-track while battling with Kobayashi any other time though. ![]() In other news, I got this years F1 game last night and, blimey, the Austin circuit is strange! ![]() It's as if it was designed by a kid scribbling on a bit of paper and then the foundations settled after they built it. It's all wavey curves with only a couple of properly sharp corners. I suspect that it'll make for an, erm, "interesting" race but I fear that very little overtaking will actually happen before turn 11 cos even though it's all fairly simple and high-speed I doubt there'll actually be any way to make a pass. Might provide some fireworks when the leaders come to lap backmarkers though. |

It was for the overtake towards the end before that Sauber/Force India tangle-up. |

Button on the grid seemed mildly offended with Brundle looking for his next interview and not listening. All teams are obliged to provide interviews and other items and always want their sponsors details on tv. However the sorrow at Hamilton's retirement was like a wake and almost the rest of the race was an injustice.

What as opposed to seriously watching 2 drivers batlling ahead of him, who looked like an accident waiting to happen. As it transpired, he caused the accident.
So if it was what Brundle was suggesting as possible, it is being just as daming. Brundle gave a possible reason why Schumacher ended up into the back of Verne. If you listened to the commentary, he then went on to say that he sat in a Ferrari recently, and there were 43 (or was it 42?) controls in the car. He was basically saying that there is alot for a driver to do, no just accelerate, brake and steer. I dont think anyone saying its not Schumacher fault. It clearly is, at least he was big enough to wait for Verne and apologise for causing the accident. |

If so he will need a seat as well. Anyone else surprised by how lacklustre Raikkonen was this race? For someone who has a good a chance as Vettel and Hamilton of wining the championship, he just didnt seem at the races. He was 6th, but to keep in the hunt he need to be a couple of places higher. |

I believe Brundle is Buttons manager and are both good friends of the track. If anything it was banter between two friends.
My response was to the poster, who said both Croft and Brundle called for him to quit. Which wasnt the case. Thus my reply should be taken in that context. Brundle gave a possible reason why Schumacher ended up into the back of Verne. I like DiResta, he impressed me last season, however hes not been as 'hot' this season. He is destined for a drive with one of the big teams. Wouldnt be surprised if it was Ferrari.

Kubica will not be back in F1 next year, 100% sure of that too, I'm afraid. Anyone who is shaking hands with his left hand still is not going to be driving a F1 car in anger in 6 months time. He may have managed a token Rally event but jumping back into an F1 car for the 2013 season just isn't realustic. I think he'll make it back in 2 or 3 years but he needs a season doing something else first. |
