Rumbles about that Mclaren and Red Bull are using flexible front wings.

Rumbles started by Ferrari no doubt, to try and cover the loss of having to shut down their wind tunnel.

Given how temperamental Button's performances are, and how he has a very narrow operational window, I wonder why they employed him at all.

Hell, the guy has admitted that in order to beat Lewis, he needs to have a really great day at the same time as Lewis has had a really bad one. It's right there, in print.

If he can admit to that, why can't you lot?”

Have you got a link to this? I'd like to read it.

Par for the course, I guess.

Copy anything worthwhile and when that doesn't work (like Massa's pitifully and obviously bendy front wing, oft-seen last year, for example) veto it instead.

All credit to the likes of Adrian Newey and Paddy Lowe.
It must be hard enough to design a world-beating F1 car without having to constantly go to the effort of disguising all the innovations so that the hacks at FIAT can't figure out how they work.

Shame really.

He was out there proving you don't have to be a 20-something to cut it in F1.

I guess it might have been nice if he could stick around and set the record for race-starts but I guess joining a small team probably isn't his idea of fun.

Course, if he can't get his jollies by driving any F1 car, you've gotta wonder how he does plan on spending his time?

The FIA revised the tests for the front wing and all the teams have passed these revised tests. Mind you, they were all notified in advance so it's possible that they modified the wings to pass the test.

Not wind tunnel related but I beleive ferrari alerted fia mclaren and red bull have front wing pylons which allow the wings to pivot.

Mclaren have theirs since hungary and red bull singapore with raised nose to allow a more agressive design.

Both teams start winning from these gps.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it seems Schumacher in someway regrets returning to what has been a noncompetitive team with little actual progress in the time.

He had the chance to take Massa's seat after the accident and declined due to neck problem that healed to allow 3 years elsewhere! If he took it then he may been offered a new contract alongside Alonso and had a certain number of victories, even a title, who knows? Thus he'll never know.

He didn't decline, he got told that his neck wasn't yet healed after a motorbike crash earlier that year. If it wasn't for that he'd have stepped in. Instead we got Badoer

He didn't hurt his neck at a fundraiser.

Can't see him sitting around the house for long.
Do Merc' still do Le Mans or campaign sportscars etc?

Blimey!

Seems like RBR have made a big push forward.
Maybe the end of the season isn't going to be as interesting as we thought?

The tracks suits the Red Bull. And they are coming into a rich vein of form at the business end of the season. That's Hamilton admittedly slim title chances more or less done for this year

The stewards are certainly not being very consistent, yet again.
Firstly yesterday the session was red flagged while they removed Paul di Resta's car out of the way, but then do it under yellows when Schumcher went of there later.

Then today we have some drivers getting penalties for blocking during Qualy whilst Vettel only gets a reprimand.

Well I think they should clarify the rules on yellow flags in qualifying. A car slows because of a yellow flag but they are not there for the following car. So the following car quickly catches the car in front who is then is under investigation for obstructing the following cars progress. Is this fair?

Was that what happened for Vettel?

Loved Kimi's interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0TQU...layer_embedded

Where he said he didn't care about the other drivers' laps being ruined by his spin? And indeed, why should he??

Alonso out at first corner!
Grosjean manages to take out Webber at the same time.

Interesting the RBR are rumoured to have introduced a double-DRS for Suzuka.
I wonder if it was planned for next year but they decided to rush it through for the end of this season once they heard it was banned next year?

Alonso can't undertand why Kimi didn't lift off. Because he didn't have to.

Ideal race for Vettel really; a win and a couple of championship no-hopers on the podium with him.

Great race from Kobayashi and also pleased to see Massa get a podium too.
He really only seems to come alive when Alonso isn't in the race.
