I thought he'd saved a kid from being hit by a speeding car for a minute.

You know John Sargeant do you? He speaks very highly of you too!! He is a respected Political Reporter and James Jordan was extremely rude, churlish and threw his toys out of the pram because his darling Cheri had been voted out. I haven't forgotten his rudeness and there was nothing heroic in his behaviour at all. John Sargeant had every right to be on the programme because he hadn't been voted off - Cheri Lunghi had but James Jordan showed an unprofessional side to his character by slagging off a contestant because the vote did not go his way. Childish in the extreme.

God I couldn't stand John Sergant he was so smug and believed he could dance when in fact he couldn't. James should've got a medal. All the other pro's and celeb's probably smiled at John and where ever so nice to him when really they where thinking GET OF THIS SHOW!! Atleast James spoke the truth.

Sorry but I disagree James had every right to be angry he proved that he cares a great deal for his partners and Cheri was 10 times better than Sergant! What if he would've stayed and Rachel Stevens,Lisa Snowden or Tom Chambers got eliminated? or even worse won. If he would've won the show's reputation would've been destroyed so basically James done all of us a favour.

I got rather confused by the title of this thread. Was expecting more

"Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's Superknob."

(That actually sounds far more complimentary than I was intending...)

Now he's behaving just as the BBC wants.

He had no right to be angry the public preferred John to Cheri. Dancing ability has nothing to do with it, it's how the celebrity appeals to the public and the number of votes. John Sergeant was ASKED to take part in the show.

This is turning into another James Jordan bashing thread I see, .
He is not one of my favourite professional on the show I admit but what is it with the constant bashing he receives here? I dont understand, can someone enlighten me?
I know some people say he is a moaner, he has been harsh to some of his celebs in the past(georgie...), he can be bit if a show off.... but still
At least he brings something different to the show. How boring would it be if all pros had similar personalities?I hope he is back next year.

I agree completly with the above.

SCD is a very watchable ratings winner because there are several shades of people watching for different reasons

Dancers(at every level from part time social to regular competitors amateur & professisional- i didnt use the p word)

Dance teachers to see if they can use anything seen into their school perhaps even for a new class (not ment to be a critisism every business at the moment needs inovation to survive)

Individual celeb followers ( get an A lister the BBC could fill Wembley every week)

SCD Professional dancers fanbases

The joker following

Early evening TV watchers before they go out ( Noel Edmunds started this with his crickly bottom and the late late breakfast show

I am sure there are othe groups but you get the point

This creates polar opinions in which every one is right from their point of view but gets the forums going sells newspapers creates headlines = more viewers

James secondary role has evolved into the pantomime villian
Crag has evolved into the opinion the celebs want to hear, Bruno has become the circus clown in his delivery but stil a valid opinion I could go on but you get the point - This isnt war and peace (the TV show is designed to be though)

I believe The BBC learnt from the John Saergent hype - wonderful publicty for them but isnt it interesting the judges do not openly go for the joke and /or less able dancers - they new come out with one or two positive sentances and between them bunch their scores up so the one the viewers want to keep in is more difficault to do so,

Lens previous tactic was to say This was your best dance to date which was a clue that celeb was going that week

Do I care it is so scripted aside from the dreadful VTs no it is a never miss TV show for me

You seem to miss the point that the public voted Cheri Lunghi out. In my view Rachel Stevens should have won that year but she didn't but Tom Chambers was more popular. John Sargeant was ASKED to be in the show and had every right to be there. Robbie Savage should have been out by now but because the public like him he is still there. James Jordan was completely out of order and behaved like a spoilt child on It Takes Two. Of course he had a right to be angry - in private - but to vent his spleen on National TV was very unprofessional and, at the end of the day, he is not heroic. Soldiers in Afghanistan are heroic, but a dancer who cannot control his emotions is not.

Ah but on THAT occasion, James and Cherie were in the bottom two - but were voted off by the judges in the notorious "Dance Off".

Who were they up against? Judge's pet Lisa Snowdon who performed that week like a lead balloon....

We know that the only reason Lisa got to the final was by her repeated saves by the judges - no matter who she was up against, or how she had danced...... In the week James and Cherie left - Lisa should have been the one to go -not them!

I am guessing alot of it is the panto villian , but I just dont think James plays it very well .He is neither funny or a good villian , he just ends up looking like a bit of an eejit .

I like the way James and Brendan play the 'talking back to authority' role but neither has any real power in the show. The BBC has them on short term contracts so ultimately they call all the shots and a regular 35k a year for three months work won't be sniffed at by most dancers.

John Sargeant's continuing presence in the competition was a potential logistical nightmare for the BBC - just imagine what would happen to the notion of SCD as a 'dance competition' if John, Anne or Russell won it

I wouldn't be surprised if what James said was influenced by this. The producers have (not always so) subtle ways of influencing the voting public. Len's recent remark about the only way Audley was going to Wembley was by the Jubilee line is an example of this.

All I would say to Mr Jordan is, why is being entertaining/The Entertainment one year a bad thing ... but another a good thing and why is a person who started from scratch and knocked out people who were more able one year a bad thing but another year it means their pro partner can stand next to Tess and praise them from having started from scratch and get snippy about their scores?

Would it have something to do with being partnered with/not partnered with A Jordan

I agree with this. It may well be that James is playing up to a directive from the producers but it's not one that's really doing him any favours. Brendan played the bad boy slightly better (although I still found the whole thing somewhat irritating) but James just comes across as a petulant brat. His walking off in a huff leaving Alex standing there on Saturday was a case in point. Yes, it may have been a talking point but it wasn't one that made James look either passionate or interesting imo - it simply left me thinking, if it looks like a prat, sounds like a prat and acts like a prat then chances are it is a prat. If James is acting on orders then I think he needs to reassess, if he isn't then he should grow up.

James Jordan is a ghastly bully. Remember the way he treated that poor Georgina Bouzova? What a horrible man he is. The sooner he's voted off permanently, the better. Strictly is supposed to be family entertainment, not a vehicle for his inflated ego

1. John probably quite Strictly for a combination of reasons, doubt it was singulalry because of anything that James said.
2. James has never been a hero on Strictly (to my memory). And say if he was responsible for getting John to quit, that is hardly heroic behaviour.

Yes indeed. How do you invite a person to take part and then moan at them because they haven't been voted off? You might want to moan at the public for keeping him in but hardly at the person!

A pantomine villain is loads of fun for sure, but you have to possess charm in bundles to get away with it. James is not charming and not a hero ...

As I understood it, John Sargeant quit because he had another job to go to that had been booked since before he started Strictly.

It was nothing whatsoever to do with anything James said.

And actually, no-one can make or cause another person to do anything. Every adult has free will and a choice about what they do or don't do.
