I think it's maybe an Internet thing rather than a British thing. You tend to get these relentlessly negative posters on just about any entertainment forum. Lots of "Worst. Series. Ever" type postings. They remind me of the comic store guy character from The Simpsons

Nobody's saying it's Amelia's fault that it happened. It's still unfair to the other contestants and makes her a less deserving winner IMHO.

I know it wasnt her fault but I still dont think its fair that somebody who left in the competition in the first week deserves to win. If she didnt get booted in the first week then she would have been my second favourite because she has got a really good voice for someone her age.

I agree. Although the most significant thing this year is that they are hell bent on having an R&B winning act that appeals to teenies. So they loaded the panel with Tulisa and Kelly who shaft everyone who doesn't fit into their narrow template. Quite apallingly, Louis has been happy to go along with this with his weekly recycled "ready-made popstar" rubbish.

So we are left with four acts who fit the idea of the winner that ITV/Syco want. How different from just a year ago... Matt and Rebecca wouldn't have got past boot camp in 2011.
