I think he was referring to red herring endings that do lead the press of the main scent. I would love to see Cassie, Tappy, Andy, Voice to Soul, G4 (swoon), 2 to go, Rowetta (the winner IMHO), Lloyd and Verity through! Here is hoping anyway!!

I get the impression that the media has got it mostly right but Simon and Louis are trying to create a huge mystery around the whole thing.
