Right, so you're not interested in politics (Edwina Currie) or political satire (Rory Bremner); Olympic gold medallists are unknown to you (Audley Harrison); your musical knowledge spans a small and mediocre time frame covering Duran Duran and Bros and so don't know anybody outside that (Lulu, Holly Valance and Harry Judd) or some people inside it (Jason Donovan).

You don't follow football so neither a former player (Robbie Savage) nor the partner of a very high profile former England manager (Nancy Dell'Olio) is familiar.

In fact, you only watch TV in the early morning (evidence: citing Natasha Kaplinsky in the OP) so anybody who appears at any other time is out (Alex Jones, Chelsee Healey, Anita Dobson. Holly and Jason are both out again because Neighbours has never been broadcast in that time slot. Or do you just not know any Australians?

That leaves Dan Lobb and Russell Grant (who was resident astrologer on the BBC breakfast programme). I can understand that now they're both eliminated you've rather lost interest.

Yeah, Natasha Kaplinsky!

I'd never heard of her. To be honest I've only ever seen her on SCD. I've never seen her do her 'job'. It's rumoured she's a TV presenter but....has anyone ever seen her? I loved her in Series 1 but she was a complete nonentity.

This.

Noticed we haven't had any celebrity chefs lately. James Martin did well whilst Gary Rhodes was vile.

Pippa Middleton. Duh! Obviously.
Tara Palmer Thingummyjig. She does this kinda thing.
Dawn French.

John Bishop.

Sorry, I don't know any young ones...

Natasha Kaplinsky was a very well known BBC newsreader at the time she appeared on Strictly and now reads the news on Channel 5 (I think - somebody will correct me if I'm wrong). She was well-known enough to also be featured in an early series of Who Do You Think You Are (a very moving episode, as it happens).

Re your later post: I've never heard of Eddie Mair or Fred Goodwin!

This proves the point. Kaplinsky I'd never heard of.

Fred Goodwin was the disgraced RBS banker. He certainly doesn't need the money but we could maybe throw rotten tomatoes. Eddie Mair is on Radio 4. That dates me.

But I've never watched daytime TV or X-factor. Don't have Sky. So what do I know?

Ah yes, I HAVE heard of Eddie Mair, but never actually listened to him.

I don't have Sky either and I don't watch daytime TV, though I'll confess to occasionally watching X-Factor.

At least Strictly doesn't sink to the depths of having ex-Big Brother contestants or Page 3 girls as contestants the way "I'm a Hasbeen" does!

Eddie Mair is a complete HOOT!

Shane Williams is playing his last game for Wales today. He'd be good! Rugby Union. For those for whom he isn't famous. Just because I watch rugby doesn't mean everybody does.

A young person? That stumps me. I've only heard of Justin Bieber. Not HEARD him. Heard OF him. And maybe he's TOO famous?
