I'm just fickle (apart from Mr Weller ).
I support-ish people when the series is on but as soon as its over, then so's my interest.

I liked Julian for the way he stepped back from being the comedy act and for his Showdance, I liked Denise, Aled ,Colin, Austen, Bill, Jodie, Jade, Gavin and this year Holly but nothing strong enough to tempt me into full on appreciation

Actually, most of my likes seem to be those who take it all with a rather large pinch of salt

Wasn't keen on Emma Bunton, found Letitiia Dean and her series long birthday wibbles a tad irritating, Dom is a whole category of his own as it Nat Soopafan Cassidy.

Likes....
Harry/Chelsee (but not obsessive voter)
Russell (thought his friendship with Flavia so cute)

Earlier Series likeds
Jimi
Gavin
Matt (ish)
Kara (ish)
Tom
Austin
Matt DA
Gethin (but only once series over)
Kenny (ish)
Jill 1/2p
Ramps
Zoe (but coz of Ian)
Sort of quite like Darren G and Matt D as well (but to a lesser extent than the others)..

But of those above, have only voted for Matt D, Jimi (and then Gavin), Russell, Austin (and then Tom).

Well... the thing is, it's clear that a lot of people did really like that performance. And some of those people are not fools.

Spoiler
Some of them are, of course.

And honestly, I think if Ramps did his act again now, some of us might think it had, at least to a degree, similar flaws in terms of technique / content.

In addition, we're not supposed to judge Kristina's bat-sh1t choreography or poor technique - we're supposed to be judging Jason. And he certainly put his heart and soul into it.

So I can see why the public and forum members might like it. It had an emotional appeal.

What annoys me is that the judges clearly went along with the "fix" to create a fitting climax to the show. I really don't think it was a coincidence that the last dance of the show just happened to achieve a perfect mark. The judges are supposed to judge on technical criteria, and they didn't.

The other thing that annoys me is that this will now be seen as The Perfect Tango. So I'll get students asking me how to morris dance in the new year, no doubt.

Noooooo - never change!

I bow to your knowledge of tehnique/content BUT as an armchair dancer, M&K's seemed much smoother and had in spades the intensity and sense of barely-controlled passion/aggression which I associate with AT. Jason's looked to me like the choreography was concocted on the back of a beermat by someone who'd only ever seen AT on SCD and thought sweaty gauchos/ladies of the night was the be-all and end-all.

True. But if I hate the choreography and the celeb's faces/mannerisms don't appeal, game over I'm afraid.

But they've been doing that for ages, and doing it blatantly from series 5 onwards - they are just living down to my low expectations I'm afraid.

But it was "pure theatre"... err... let's not get carried away...pure pantomime.

The "hero" always comes and saves the situation in "the nick of time."

Could you expect anything else?

At best before the semi-final he was only third, so why was he selected to go on last, unless a "big finish" was planned?

Don't you just love a conspiracy theory?

Bored, cabin fever, had alternate sun with heavy rain/wind all day, can hardly see out the windows for the salt caked on them, fun cleaning those.

I really wont miss the end of strictly this year, in fact I am looking forward to it, sick of trying to be diplomatic, sick of trying to summon up interest on a so so season, sick of all the holier than thous out there. Apart from that everything is hunky dory.

Sh*t phone just rang, my cousin's father-in-law just dropped dead in the kitchen of his house today, her kids adored him and are in bits, not going to be a fun Christmas for them

Wish to unappreciate our new SEN co-ordinator. She's a lazy twunt with an over-inflated sense of her own importance and she can't bloody spell.

Edit - Sorry, just read the post above mine. Puts my problems into perspective. So sorry.

Thanks, everyone, I didn't know him very well, just met at family gatherings, its the kids I feel sorry for, they are 9 & 12, the boy used to go to footy with him every weekend, and the girl was very much the apple of her grandad's eye, so they are old enough to miss him. Like you say, puts your own problems into perspective.

That's a sod, nothing worse than having to work with someone you don't respect, been there, it's not fun.

I know what you mean, I've just been having a good old whinge myself, probably should have edited it out, but you know what they say, in the midst of life etc.

Sorry, didn't mean to bring the mood down, maybe I should ask the mod to split us now, leave the upsetting things behind.

Oh, no, it's Karen's Krappy Koreo Korner tonight on ITT, do I really want to listen to her praising that dance to the skies. Cup of tea first.

I don't think you brought the mood down - this thread can be a wonderfully supportive place when you have bad news.

Personally I hope Karen throws a hissy fit over the fact that dance beat hers.

So many posts! and it's nearly time for ITT (if you have a TV as old as this one, which takes a while to warm up, almost like in the old days when there were only 3 channels).

Thank you for the kind comments re. dear departed Tom-cat.

Welcome back from Bognor, DJ! (Siberia would have been better, if Pasha is typical) enjoyed the commentary on THAT "AT" from one who knows.

Ah, don't be daft. You didn't bring the mood down at all.

And don't you just know that Karen is going to lurve the faces Wonder if she will attempt the foot slapping step this week

Big condolences to Kassieq and family xxxx

And WELCOME BACK NOTGOALIE!!!!!! Someone stop Hugo guzzling the champers!

Would like to unappreciate the fact I've now lost my voice. It's made home visits interesting today as I gravelled around nursing homes sounding like Mariella Frostrup's older brother...

Ok, least fave contestant was definitely BoD because she wanted to change everything to what she thought it should be, not what every dancer does...

Faves... Aled, Alesha, Gethin, Kara, Chelseepet!
