Currently running in 2000AD.

This could be a landmark Judge Dredd story. The sequel to The Apocalypse War (arguably the greatest Judge Dredd story of them all).

I think it's been very exciting and the current story arc - The Assassination List - is fantastic. I think it speaks volumes about John Wagner's ability that he can evoke memories of classic 1980s Judge Dredd in this story. Thanks, John.

It's certainly got a good build up so far - and PJ is certainly back on form old-school style!

Hopefully it'll turn out better than the storyline a while back with the East-Meg island off Africa. That was a bit too 'action packed' for me. This seems to be something that's being written a little bit more as a 'long game', which is good.

Slightly disappointing news regarding Day of Chaos. There is a four week gap (!) after part five of The Assassination List.

I suppose they've got to get their festive story in

As I see it though, the way it's unfolding is much more Necropolis like, so you've got fragmented storylines leading up to the main event that all gel together in the last few weeks and you think, "Genius!"

I certainly prefer that slow burn rather than 10 issues of pre-story and then wham-bam into the 20 odd issue storyline about something that's never really been an issue throughout the canon. I recall that Inferno happened like that, and it's not exactly a classic.

I suspect that there might be more to this story than simple East-Meg One survivors up to their old tricks again as well. The presence of PJ and the Central American cartels will be of more importance ultimately I think.

I'd rather not see anymore of PJ Maybe in Day of Chaos. He's a great character but I prefer the rest of the saga to be about MC-1 Judges vs Sovs. This makes it more of an official sequel to the Apocalypse War rather than 'The Further Adventures of PJ Maybe.'

I'm guessing the return of Day of Chaos in the new year will see the Mayoral election and then "it" happens! The Sovs - the ones that haven't been fried in the current arc - release the virus. Da da daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

It looks like it's gonna be bad year for MC-1. I've decided to delay my holiday to MC-1. Just a precaution, y'know.

I think they need PJ to make it different though! Otherwise it'll just turn into a cross between Inferno and Satan's Island. I think Total War set the standard for the new Dredd style epic, where it's a little bit more intricate than Judges vs Baddies

I'm thinking that the Sovs that died in Part 4 of The Assasination List were like the ones that were killed in Part 2 of The Fourth Faction ie misfits and troublemakers who Yevgeny Borisenko wasn't too bothered about losing.

Hmm, not sure that's the way to go. John Wagner established it was the Sovs out for revenge. In part 1 of The Fourth Faction story arc he covered this. Don't forget, Dredd destroyed East-Meg 1. Hundered of millions of people were wiped out. An entire country (or nearly all of it!) was wiped from the map. Why does the story need more villains to make it more intricate? The Sovs were a far greater threat than Total War. The Sovs wiped out 400 million MC-1 cits. That's the greatest death count in MC-1 history.

Day of Chaos doesn't need extra villains to make it a richer story, but if Wagner wants to add some to the mix, fair enough, it's his story. But I would prefer he didn't.

I presume that Borisenko's group is getting assistance from rogue elements from within the Justice Department of East-Meg 2.

This would cause trouble for the leadership of that city if Dredd finds out

However if they are able to persuade Dredd that they had nothing to do with then perhaps at the end of the Day of Chaos storyline there could be a joint MC-1/EM-2 operation to take down Borisenko.

One other thing is that corrupt MC-1 Judge that keeps appearing a sleeper agent from Borisenko or a native Megger who has gone rogue??
