Live Show Audience Tickets - 10/12/2011
Noz81

Evening all

Absolutely thrilled to have received an email today confirming tickets for next Saturday. I have never been through an audience application before so have no idea what to expect. The ticket says that it does not guarantee entry and I will need to make a 300 mile round trip to get down there.

Could anyone please offer any advice as to when we should arrive? What to expect? Can you get changed once inside?

We would be gutted if we didn't make it inside. Have been a fan of the programme for many years and this would be the best christmas present ever.

Many Thanks

Well done on getting tickets - enjoy the show!!!!

My advice, get there as early as you possible can - your ticket doesnt guarantee you entry and the less people queing in front of you the better!!!

I would aim for 11am if you can or better still - travel down the night before and get there asap!

There are toilet facilities inside so you could probably get changed in there but there are also toilet facilities at the BBC entrance to the right of the Audience Entrance and you can get changed in there too before you go into the BBC

I hope you enjoy the show

Like olivej says, 11am or early to guarantee entry. And yes, you can get changed once you're inside.

I hope you enjoy and appreciate the show!

If you need the details of a very close B&B then contact me.

You definitely need to get there as early as possible as I know someone who went recently were in the last 10 def entries and they got there about 1.30.

I think they give out 900 tickets (450 pairs) for maximum 450 public seats depending on how many BBC guests there are so you can see why you need to get there early if you possibly can.

So they give out more tickets than seats? How cruel!

Yes to make sure there are enough people there. Most shows do it. It's because they are free that they presume there will be no shows.

Although I never realised with strictly that they basically double up.

I can understand them doing it, but for that many people to be disappointed seems very unfair. You'd think they would issue say 10 more not another 450! Although, if someone has applied for tickets then they would probably turn up.

Congratulations on getting your tickets for the show. You will have a wonderful day. I was lucky enough to get tickets for last Saturday, the 26th. Like you, I have been a fan of the show since Series 1, and as I had to travel down from Scotland and realised the tickets were not guaranteed came down the day before and made a weekend of it. We got to the studios at about 10.30am and there was already a small queue. Had a lot of fun in the queue talking all things Strictly with all the other Ladies around us. At about 12.30 a BBC employee came out and gave us stickers that verified our seats. We were given red stickers and were told we would have good seats downstairs. We were then able to leave and went across the road to Westfield Shopping Centre for lunch and some shopping. While in M& S tried on some clothes in their changing rooms and changed into Glam. Gear there as that seemed a better option than a toilet at TV Centre. We went back to TVCentre just after 2.30pm as that was the time on the tickets for admission to the site, but it was nearer 4pm before we got in. They take your mobile phone from you at the door and then once you go inside there is a bar and cloakroom where you can leave you coats, bags etc. Again you have to wait before they take you through to the studio at about 5.15pm. This is done in seat number order, small blocks at a time.
We were in the same row as Bruce, where he sits at a TV monitor when the dancers are on the floor. All the judges walked past us and talked to us, and were lucky enough to get a kiss from Bruno & Alesha, and then an autograph from Bruno.
All in all, we had a wonderful day, and although there is a lot of waiting around, the experience is well worth it.
I'm sure you already know that the results show is recorded after the live show, so didn't leave TV Centre till about 10.15pm.
If you need anymore info let me know and enjoy your day.

Oh WOW! Lucky you! We were there on Monday for the Christmas Special recording and it was AMAZING!

You will have a great time. The previous posters have given you the low down. Only difference for us were the timings. They didn't "sticker" our tickets until 3pm when we had been told earlier by a security guy that it would be 1pm. A lot of hanging around but it was well worth the wait.

We had front row seats which made it extra special.

You probably heard that the Military Wives choir will be singing on the results show ... get your tissues at the ready!!

Do let us know how you get on.

Sent you a DM with info and some hints.
