As I said earlier, it seems he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.”

completely agree with this

As for Robbie he wont win no matter what he does, he wont please everyone, some people are slagging him off for calling the bloke Speedo, i mean seriously that is no doubt what he has called the bloke for years him turning round now and referring to him as Gary would seem a tad strange.

Celebrities are not generally allowed to grieve in private, so they have to be as dignified as they can in the light of people asking and imo if someone asking Robbie about Gary is preventing them from harassing Garys' wife and kids Robbie is doing a good deed.

Some people will moan and bitch that he has not withdrawn and if he cared he should be at home crying into his hanky every hour, others will understand that some people prefer to keep busy to take their mind off things

There is no one size fits all to grieving, people are so harsh and judgemental it is unbelievable”

I agree with everything you've said here. especially the bib, I'm not a football fan so I only know Robbie from Strictly but he comes across as a decent man trying to do his best in a difficult situation and, if he leaves the show tonight, then he'll go out on a "high" doing a dance he loves, as a tribute to his best friend

Im a massive Derby County fan, and i HATED Robbie Savage with a passion that was totally unjustified until he came to play for my club; After then, i saw a man who was passionate but also a man who was fiercely loyal, caring, and a really warm human being; ive had the good fortune to meet him many times at Derby and i have nothing but wonderful things to say about him; His on field persona is nothing like his off field persona and he does a lot of good work away from the cameras that he doesnt publicise;

I hope he dances his best dance tonight, and if to him thats a fitting tribute to his friend then good for him, having lost close family members over the last couple of years i know that having something to focus on is the best thing possible so to him SCD has obviously been his lifeline this week, and as Gary wished him good luck every week, and this is the 1st week he obviously wont have that call, then dedicating it to him must be his way of feeling as though he is doing something for him at a time that all his family (garys) and friends must feel very hopeless;

also, i met gary quite a few times through football and i echo all the tributes to him, what a fantastic guy he was and will be sadly missed”

Re bib #1 - he's well thought of around Wrexham, he's their Ambassador for Altzheimers

bib #2 from Monday onwards his fans were urging him to "dance for Gary on Saturday"; if he were still plying pro soccer he'd be dedicating his next match to Gary.

I'm hoping he'll go for encouraging folk not to speak about it at all.
I'm sorry for anyone's loss, who has lost someone so suddenly but dancing "for" the person who's died just seems mawkish to me, what earthly good does it do the deceased?

This is no lack of sympathy for the poor man who died, of whom I'd previously never heard, and for his family and for his friends. I am genuinely horrified for all of them - but sympathy is not the same as sentimentality, and I'm hoping for an absence of sentimentality tonight.

Because his friend Gary was in the studio supporting him a few weeks ago and used to ring him every Sat night to wish him luck , thats why he's dedicated his performance to him.

As for whay good does it do anyone, maybe it might make him feel better after a hellish week where he's lost a close friend.

I thought it was handled very well tonight. Robbie acknowledged that it had been a tough week but that was it. Strong and respectful. He still looked very sad at times though.

robbie is a bit fragile and needy. he looked to be virtually in tears when craig didn't praise him to the skies.

let's not keep robbie in but let's give him the kudos he deserves for keepin it all on a professional level and just getting on with it. Well done Robbie. However, you are just not ready for the semi final

He did well considering the week he must've had, and he kept himself together more or less, but i hope he goes tomorrow.

If people genuinely like Robbie and want to see him win this show, then by all means vote for him but dont vote for him for any other reason as it doesnt make sense.”

I absolutely agree two unrelated [if tragic] events . it would be tacky to assume a link

I'd expected his tribute dance to be more solemn than the Reservoir Dogs routine he did tonight.
