I have not listened to the band for an age. So I through on 'Permanant Vacation'. Great album and great band. The only reason I watched American Idol was cos of Steven Tyler. Legend !

Agreed. 'Don't Want To Miss A Thing' is a decent enough song for the likes of Take That, but it's a real wetpatch in the career of a band who released two fantastic albums in the 80s.

tsk tsk tsk. Yeh 'I don't wanna miss a thing' sucks. However 'Toys in the Attic', released in the 70s is a great album. The 80s there are at least 3 good albums, .'permanent vacation

I like their late 80s-early 90s singles and I think 'Pump' is a pretty good album, but if I want to listen to Aerosmith I rarely look further than their first four albums if I'm honest. 'Rocks' is a hard rock classic that I don't think they've ever bettered.

I'll probably agree with you on that one. Rocks is a very good album. My personal fave is Permenent Vacation. I think Steven Tyler knows his onions
Who remembers a power ballad they did in the early 00s called Fly Away From Here? I think that's one of my favourite songs of all time and certainly Aerosmith's most underrated imo.
What does 'cool' even mean? The word is so overused that it has lost all meaning.

I loved them when I was at school, the permanent vacation time, I stopped listening to them after Pump.
I did like their old stuff too, and just got 'toys in the attic' on spotify the other day. It's probably their best album, and I really like 'night in the ruts' even though it sounds like it was recorded for fifty pence and a curly wurly. It just sounds nasty like a night in the ruts. I've no idea of timelines but I would imagine it was when they were at their highest
One song I didn't like was 'Living on the Edge', thought it was shite, til (and this always happens!) I saw it done live, this was download 11 (or was it 10?) and it's possibly one of my 90s era favourites now.
