Buble's from the same genre as Sinatra, but Sinatra had a much superior voice and phrasing. I'd also say Harry Connick Jnr who's similar in style is a better singer than Buble, but he's more interested in acting now.. I can take or leave Buble, but don't find him all that interesting to listen to..

Yeah, it doesn't seem to take alot to impress people these days. Probably a more appropriate title would be. What's the appeal of Michael Buble?.

The modern day music has slots available for .............. a boy band, a girl band, a pop group, a rock group, a quirky solo singer, easy listening artistes....

Here are some of the world's biggest current music acts in the world.....

Lady GaGa
Coldplay
Beyonce
Rihanna
Michael Buble
Justin Bieber

They all have something to offer to different people. Michael Buble has global appeal - he may not be the world's best crooner - but he is the most popular right now. His fans will be mostly female - he has a 'cool' factor, plays with a live orchestra, uses his good looks well, not a bad singer - best of all he is Canadian and inoffensive.

I assume it's because they like him.

To me, everything he sings sounds exactly the same - bland.

I'd NEVER buy an album of his. Everything is auto-tuned to death. No thanks.

He's harmless. I'll take a listen when I'm in just that right kind of mood I guess. But I swear to Gawd the dude lisps. Right? It can't be just me hearing this!? And his music is over produced, so you'd think they'd have no problem fixing the freaking lisp. Can someone please listen to this and tell me he doesn't lisp? By the way, if he does in fact have a known speech impediment and I'm the only one who doesn't know, sh!t, sorry!
Cool that he's made it this far in the business with one.

PS- That song is taken from his album, it's not a spoof or anything. Is the lisp supposed to be endearing? I really don't know, tbh.

Probably because they want to.

I like him as a person, but kinda bemused by the popularity of the Christmas album by anyone...unless they write NEW Christmas songs (well -why not!)

and iv'e always thought 'Easy listening' is a kind way of saying 'Not listening'

I know what you mean but there's just something about this xmas album. All i can say is I will be buying my first xmas album ever because it is a truly great album. Kept it very traditional but at the same time kept it with a Michael Buble spark.

He has made around $40 million! That is not too bad for being so lazy! His music is not for me but a lot of people must like it. Good luck to him.

Michael's a fantastic singer/songwriter and he's been very successful, they're are plently of acts that have lots of fans and they're crap. Michael deserves his fanbase.

I just have serious issue with his version of Santa Baby off his Xmas album.
Changing gender reference is annoying enough but in this song he sings "Santa Buddy", "Santa Pally" and "I'll wait up for you dude"/"think of all the hotties that I haven't kissed."
His whole version is just cringe overload!
It's ok Michael! We won't think you have a thing for old bearded men if you sang the song in it's original form.

He is excellent live.

I am at a loss why people buy some of the stuff that is in the charts! I cannot understand rapping - weird. However, if they want to listen to such stuff so be it.

The same with artists such as Michael Buble. He has a good voice, is inoffensive (that goes a long way for me) and sings some great songs.

This was playing on a loop in our Tesco yesterday. An old lady asked me if I knew who it was so I told her and she went to put it in her trolley.

I suppose this "old lady" was about 60!

I wouldn't buy Buble's stuff but i's usually easy listening on the radio (except when played to death), but I have to say his version of White Christmas they played on radio 1 this morning was awful! unless I missed something and it was part of the Bubleoke

Surely you don't have to like a person to like their music? If I had to like everyone I own music by, I'd have a very limited amount of music.
