Seriously, I can't understand some of the clowns here criticising Kelly's performance. She was singing LIVE and performing some seriously complex choreography as well. She didn't sound perfect, but when you consider the difficulty level of what she was doing, she did a fine job.

Usher tried to dance and sing live when he performed on X-Factor last year, and he sounded terrible. Kelly should be congratulated for not copping out and doing as well as she did. For me, the only acts that have appeared on X-Factor who could actually sing live and do choreography that complex to a higher standard than Kelly are our very own Alexandra Burke and Beyonce.

I've already said Beyonce is a stronger live performer than Kelly (and she always has been), as is Alexandra Burke. Beyonce being better doesn't mean Kelly isn't excellent when contrasted to the majority of her peers.

But beyond them, Kelly is generally better than the majority of singer/dancers out there who are mega-stars. Katy Perry or Rihanna could never put on a choreography performance of that standard, singing live.

Kelly was singing live. Beyonce is doing a pre-recorded TV special that can be edited if she makes any mistakes.

Good point about Beyonce's show being pre-recorded and edited, so she can be made to sound as good as possible.

While I still think Beyonce is stronger live than Kelly, the ITV show isn't really evidence of that. There was no post-production manipulation for Kelly's performance. It was actually LIVE. Beyonce's was pre-recorded and likely edited for mistakes.

To suggest that Kelly was rubbish because Beyonce is so good is just stupid. Beyonce's talent is rare. She makes it look incredibly easy.

Kelly was competent, put on a good show, showed some personality, sang well and danced well. I don't know what else people could want from her performance.

Kelly was very good tonight and well done on her doing it live with the amount of dancing she had to do.

Lady Gaga can sing and dance live too.

Agreed that some of the other threads ridiculing her are beyond silly tbh. She did great tonight and to compare her to Beyonce is silly - that's like comparing Nadine to Cheryl in Girls Aloud - Nadine is clearly the better singer but Cheryl is the better dancer.

Sing AND dance live, with the and being the operative word. It's extremely hard to deliver acceptable vocals and dance like Kelly did at the same time. It takes years of training to perfect which is why many singers mime or use very heavy backing tracks when dancing.

She's had years of training though, and because of that it just seemed pretty lackluster.

It is, but people who perform in the West End or Broadway have to do it night after night. I don't see the cast of Chicago miming. People somehow think that musical theatre is a rubbish career compared to pop.

Thumbs up to her for singing live, not many artists have the guts to do that and I thought it was brave of her. However, I thought it was pretty bad, even more so at the start when she hadn't even started dancing yet (the Love Takes Over part), her vocal was all over the place, didn't sound in tune a lot.

She actually got better on the second song and once she started moving, she wasn't good but at that point she had an excuse because she was dancing and it's not easy to sing and dance at the same time, not at all.
