I was responding to this thread and that was about Alesha. Yes, Kimmiangel, you are quite right they are all unprofessional to pour booze down their throats when they are on "air" and get plastered or appear on set after drinking too much alcohol. George Best was often rat-arsed - and look what happened to him. Glamorising alcohol is not very clever, is it - but the media seem to think it is?
I was joking , I don't think it glamourizes alcohol, George best was a alcoholic there's a big difference. Mila kunis drank straight from the bottle Alan Carr previously, if you watch his chat show you know the majority of the time people drink, if you don't like it don't watch it , simples

If you think it is okay to drink "on air" and get plastered then good for you. I will NOT be watching Alan Carr again - simples!

Alesha is very unprofessional to drink before a job and to appear to National TV drunk just shows what she is.
"Shows what she is"?

Please, enlighten us as to what you think "she is".

I'd love to hear more about your views. They sound very enlightened.

She still is extremely unprofessional to swig a bottle of wine on "air"
It's an appearance on Alan Carr. It's not like she's performing brain surgery.

And your definition of "unprofessional" appears to include "women daring to drink in public".

Or, possibly, not.

Alesha looks easy after a couple Asti Spumantes. I have high hopes.
We can but dream

Aw give her a break , its not like her job at that time involved steering an articulated truck through Berlin on a busy day , or looking after babies in a SCBU , or guiding little children on a day out in desert
She had a few drinks , got a bit tipsy , had a bit of a laugh ( or cackle ) , Not the end of the world really .

Oh, I think that particular poster has persistently made it quite clear exactly what he/she thinks Alesha is ever since she became a Strictly judge...

Oh yes.

I simply want that particular poster to state it explicitly rather than to use innuendos.

Okay, David James, you want me to state without innuendos. The hiring of Alesha Dixon was a farce - three months of training and she's an expert - I think not. That is my main problem with her - SHE IS NOT QUALIFIED to judge on Strictly - if she was hired to give an opinion then that is a different matter. I now fast forward her "critiques" if I am watching a recorded programme. To the more serious point - she got plastered "on air" - end of contract. Anyone who is qualified and professional would not have behaved like that - and that is what she is - unqualified as a judge and unprofessional in her attitude and she makes a half-hearted apology on Twitter but I suppose that is acceptable to some people. Where I worked alcohol was not allowed in the workplace and if anyone consumed it on site - they were instantly dismissed. Satisfied.

And where Alesah was working that night was a late night chat show where alcohol is routinely served, on air - slight difference - if she was necking vodka whilst on SCD, different matter, but she wasn't, so why the issue?

Yes, I want to to state what you mean with your comment "Is shows her for what she is".

You haven't said what you think she "is".

You've said what you think she is not.

Come on, say it, you know you want to.

Alesha Dixon IS a very beautiful woman - she IS favoured by the BBC and got the job as a "judge" when she wasn't qualified to judge the skin off a rice pudding, she annoys me when she opens her mouth and comes out with cliche after cliche in her gangsta-speak. The comment "show her for what she is" means she is unprofessional. Satisfied now.

How does she speak ''gangsta''.

I don't get that.

No, as you're obviously avoiding the question. You clearly have a real issue with some inherent aspect of Alesha, which your "what she is" comment betrayed.

There's a word for that attitude. It's called prejudice.

What do you define as "prejudice"? I think Alesha's public persona IS loud, uncouth, unqualified and drinking on the job is bang out of order but that is only my opinion and Digital Spy is a forum to discuss our opinions. As Voltaire said "I disagree with what you say but I would defend to death your right to say it". I don't know MIss Dixon personally so am at a loss to understand what you are implying. WHAT SHE IS DAVID JAMES IS UNQUALIFIED!

Her job that night was to be a guest on a late night chat show where alcohol is served by the host as a matter of course - hardly bang out of order

Can you elaborate on how she speaks like a "gangsta"?

Agreed, next we'll be hearing about how she's "got a chip on her shoulder." or how she's "uppity"

What clinched it for me is the comment about "gangsta-speak.". If she speaks like a gansta, James Jordan and Len Goodman must be the mob bosses.

Yes, that's pretty much the direction I was assuming also.

I wonder if the poster would be quite so nasty about a judge who was white, male, and middle-class.

Why is everyone taking this interview so seriously! It was Alan Carr for god's sake not Andrew Marr! What does everyone expect? You're supposed to have a laugh, that's the whole point of the show!

Heaven knows what's going to be said about Westlife after their appearance a few weeks ago!

Some people should really stick to watching Songs Of Praise imo.
