Replacement Hard Drive for Ipod

Does anyone have any advice on where to get one of these?

Mine has been dead for ages and I keep meaning to look into getting one, as the apple store wanted silly money to repair it.

iPod's don't use hard drives. They use Solid State Memory. I'm sorry to say it's near impossible to do it yourself (requires soldering and a chip etc...). What is wrong with it exactly? It might not be what you think.

Not true, I pod classics have a hard drive as did the ipod mini (?) though that was only 4 gig.

A quick search for ipod classic hard drive gives you places to buy them and instructions on how to do it. BTW the instructions say it's a very hard thing to do
