Just to rain on GaGa's parade after releasing her ground breaking new video they've decided to be vindictive and say that Judas is the 4th worst music video of all time!

A video jam-packed with clichéd religious allusions, ugly high couture fashions and dancers who look like they haven’t had a proper meal since the nineties. An attempt to jump on the Madonna/Catholicism bandwagon that so incredibly misjudged it's quite comical. It's seems fitting that for Gaga's worst single so far, the video was her very own Curate’s egg.
Sounds to me like someone is bitter that GaGa has not only released probably the best most influential music video of the last 30 years but she directed it all by herself!

So lets analyse what they say:

ugly high couture fashions
Yes I'm going to take fashion advice from sad acts like NME writers over fashion's current darling Mother Monster

An attempt to jump on the Madonna/Catholicism bandwagon
When all else fails bring out the Madonna card  really is that all they've got. I get the feeling that when Madonna comes out with her new album she'll take the Christina Skankulera approach and take more than a few ques from GaGa.

It's seems fitting that for Gaga's worst single so far
And is this a fact? I don't think so, this song firmly cemented GaGa as no one album wonder and is one of the songs of 2011, possibly even the decade.

the video was her very own Curate’s egg
It was a vessel and you're meant to be a jounalist, well all credibility has gone out the window macking this whole mess null and void!

This was the magazine that named Blackout the worst album of 2007 where even true britney fans and critics adore that album. NME hate Pop i assume but make exceptions for the odd one.

Nme gave 8/10 for BTW and a very good and objective review whereas they gave coldplay 5/10 and adele 6/10 they hate pop i think not.

Alos i agree the religious connotations allusions their not original are they and in fairness BTW really hasn't had a bad romance or paparazzi and she needs to drop the crazy cotoure or risk becomaing a novelty.

and thirdly NME specialises in indie and alternative and have a snobbery toward mainstream so don't take offense.

And i know you love Gaga but maybe in 28 years if she's still around i'll call her inflential as a piece born this way worked divided into singles it did not BTW an okay pop single that youv'e heard before judas bared more than a little resemblance to past work TEOG and YAI are okay and marry th night a lesson in self indulgence and pointlessly long narratives

Accept gaga has a long way to go yet and stop even comparing the likes of Madonna and to xtina who are completely different and have influenced, sold, and been respected time and again SERIOUSLY

If GaGa wasn't popular they would be wet over her, they hate popularity. Why would they attack a true artist who is having major success. GaGa has done so much for music, entertainment and society. She's changed people's perspectives about so many things, she's made it ok to be gay and she's managed to turn herself and her message into a major success. They would prefer GaGa to be stuck in the back of some old mans bar singing her songs, where her message and music would only be heard by the oh so cool but out of touch hipsters.

Mmm, their readers named her worst act in the world in 2009, so they've never really liked her.

Of course the NME does not mention that in 1972 David Bowie & 1978 Kate Bush won the same accolade from their readers.

PS. I think Judas the song and to a lesser extent the video is an abomination, that should never have got near the album as by being the second single it gives completely the false impression that the Born This Way album is not very good.

She hasn't though has she, because Madonna, Cher and Liza have been allowing it to be Ok to be gay for decades.

Not to the extent that GaGa has, a lot of open gay people today owe their newfound freedom to GaGa, she's changing the laws in America and while as before GaGa it was taboo most people now accept that its OK! Lady GayGay did that for them!

I am 100% convinced that you're a WUM, and a very entertaining one at that.

If not, seek medical advice, because your delusional obsession is not healthy.

And btw, NME have previously labelled gaga as "the best thing to happen to pop music in fifteen years".

(not sure whether they said a decade or fifteen years, feel free to correct me)

There is always the slightest, smallest chance that they just don't like her, y'know?!..

Believe it or not, those people exist.

Judas is pretty rotten but the video for Edge of Glory is about a billion times worse. I can't remember when I've seen a worse looking or worse directed video by a supposedly major artist.
It looks like it was made for tuppence and directed by a blind two year old who can't sit still.

I feel sorry for all the Gaga fans on this thread who are being stereotyped due to the insanity of a certain few posters.

They are, Lady Gaga is a pop singer, not a life choice as some people are led to believe.

Where not all that crazy I assure you although I can't blame you for thinking that after reading the some of the posts.

If_U_Seek_Amy maybe they just didn't like the video just because you like doesn't mean everyone is going to.
