I have no idea what to get for my son and his girlfriend and Mr G has had a wee sniffle … man flu :rolleyes … since we got back from Tenerife and has been useless. He says he got it from all the people coughing and sneezing on the plane. I pointed out that I was on the same plane and his response was “your nose is too small to catch anything”.

All he’s done is find some objection to everything I’ve suggested.

I managed to be very sensible at the weekend. He took me to a place which has some nice antique jewellery and had me casually look in the window. I saw a nice ring and then remembered what time of year it was and managed to hastily add that it wouldn’t work at all with my other rings. I’ve fallen for that trap on previous years when I’ve ended up with the most peculiar trinkets because my eyes stayed on them a moment too long – mainly because they were so peculiar.

I’ve got a massive big box. I could pad it out and put the Strepsils in that and give it to him for Christmas.

Sounds good to me, you could put boxes of smaller & smaller sizes in the big box. Would take him ages to get to the Strepsils & take his mind off his 'Man flu'.

Close each box with extra tough proper Sellotape … yep sounds good to me.
