I think these people, also the tabloids, and even Gary Barlow, try these tactics of forcing their opinions on people just to see if they can pull it off. Like it's a bit of an ego-trip to see just how much power they have.

I wasn't aware anybody valued the opinion of Chris Moyles.

Thats him ruled out of winning the competition then.

Do you seriously think Chris Moyles, or any Radio 1 show these days, has enough listeners to make the blindest bit of difference or that the Radio 1 audience and the XF voting demographic have that much of a crossover?

The Chris Moyles show has a huge audience, over 9 million weekly listeners apparently http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010...breakfast-show
Personally, I avoid it like the plague because I can't stand Moyles, but he's certainly popular. I imagine the demographics do overlap a fair amount, though obviously not completely. But even if Marcus got, say, 2% less votes because of this that could be the difference between coming first and third this year.

In my opinion though, if Moyles doesn't like him that makes me think that Marcus is probably a nice guy that I'd get on well with...

Call me old fashioned but if the guy can't speak who the hell was stupid enough to put him on a radio program

There have been a couple of rumours floating around that Marcus is a bit of a diva offscreen and full of his own importance.

It's hard to get to the truth, as the fanboys in the tabloid press all seem to love him and want him to win.

Good!
Hopefully this will damage his chances, Im surprised Moyles' team said anything as they seem to love Barlow so much.

Strange that these stories are only appearing as we get close to the final

What did they actually say about him? I always listen to Chris Moyles and Scott Mills, hard to believe they'd make it up, especially considering how much they love Gary Barlow

I dunno, I've always though Marcus comes across as a lovely guy, never heard a bad word said about him until now, I suppose he could be putting on "a nice guy" act, but he always seems so genuine. I dunno what to believe really.

No! There have been stories floating around for weeks. Someone saw the XF acts in a shop (Apple or somewhere) and said that Marcus came across as aloof and superior. Someone else on FB knows Marcus from Liverpool and said that on the scene he's got a reputation for being a bitchy diva. Take them or leave them, but the stories have been there.

It wasn't really Moyles having a go at Marcus, he wasn't there on the day. It's the producer Aled and Matt Fincham. They have a thing where if the guest doesn't acknowledgment when they bring them tea/coffee, breakfast, newspapers etc then they have them pegged as a 'wrong un'. Matt said that Marcus didn't even look at him or say one word to him. I guess I can see where they're coming from, even with a sore throat you can look someone in the eye, or smile or croak out a simple 'thanks' when they do something for you.

Scott said that he passed them on the corridor and got blanked even though he's met them all before - I don't know about this one, could be a simple case of not seeing someone or recognising someone.

Ofcourse he's going to be "the nicest person to meet" right now because he's in the spotlight and loving the attention I mean come on he wants to win so he's going to act all nice. I don't get how you guys can't see behind that stupid grin he constantly does. His boyfriend is a horrible person too who still tries to live off the Eton Road name.

I was in Thorntons in Liverpool Central Station a couple of years back and he had popped in and was talking to the woman behind the counter as he knew her. I was in the queue and he was telling her how he was performing in a charity event with Mel C. Yeah that's fine but he then kept bringing it up to her repeating it and looked around for a response and I was just like .. awkward. He then looked annoyed and swiflty went out.”

Did you hit on his boyfrieed or him perchance and have been rejected. I can only think that is the case for the above. The whole clubbing and he thinks he is above everyone rankles me as one of the things gays (including me) would say if we find someone we would like to approach but can't as a defence mechanism.

shows how much people like to comment without knowing the full facts, Chris Moyles wasnt there Vernon Kay was standing in for him.

The joke was Marcus was wearing a sticker or badge that said "sshhhh voice rest" which is what they were taking the mickey out of. The show had not been told Marcus was ill and not going to speak much if at all. Maybe due to him being ill or maybe he didnt want to be there but he was in a bit of a mood due to it. As the show is known for rating guests this was where the comments about Marcus came from as he was not a good guest, for a radio show. It wasn't the shows fault.

Later in the afternoon Scott Mills was saying why did the badge tell other people to SHHHH when its Marcus who was the one who couldn't speak !!!

So surely other people did not need to SSHHHH ! Which he has a good point. However Scott did still speak in a low voice.

check out this picture of him

And then several other reports from the day were the complete opposite saying he was one of the friendliest ones

I am doing this to make it be read again as no one wants to stick to the facts just make up their own as they go along.

Where did you get the idea I hit on either of them? what the hell haha. I've met Marcus before last year and asked him for a lighter because shock horror of horror I needed a lighter and I was outside a club with a cigerette in my hand and he was also. He was rude! Anywho I don't go for camp people or black people and no i'm not racist at all and I don't hate the guys singing because he has got a good voice but it's silly all the stuff about how he's this really lovely chap because majority of you have never spoke to him in real life. Yeah I was drunk and he was when I asked for a lighter but it doesn't give somebody the right to look at you in disgust and say "ee" and walk off does it?

I mean I really like Cheryl Cole but I wont say she's really nice in real life because she might not be. We all only see celebrities on TV so ofcourse they're going to be nice and if you meet them in real life with lots of fans around and cameras, chances are they are going to be nice but for all we know they could be horrible people behind the scenes. Taking for instance Cilla Black. I've seen her on TV and thought she was funny but lots of people have met her one to one and said how she's really horrible so I suppose anyone could be!

Radio 1 is basically "Ghetto Innit FM" these days.

A waste of time.

I heard the conversation this morning and you've got it bang on. The only thing to add is that Tina (sports reader) also mentioned that she was at the X-Factor a few weeks ago and when her cousin asked Marcus for a quick photo he just said 'No' and walked off. I took it that they had got photos with some of the other contestants.

So that was three different people all telling less than flattering stories about Marcus, and not all from the same 'ill' day either. Rings true for me! I'm gone right off him, and would now prefer one of the other two to win.

SO all of this because he wouldn't give you a light. Did he say something really rude like "Get Stuffed" or just said no I don't have a light and then continued his conversation. I am intrigued to know how he was rude?

As for not being attracted to him fair dos but if I am ever in Liverpool I'll make sure I go around offering people a light so they don't hate me when I am outside a club having a cigarette with my friends and said person is a relative stranger. Unless the rule is everyone should know everyone in Liverpool?

I wouldn't take a blind bit of notice of anything Chris Moyles says, he's an irritating moron with a big gob.
