Shirley is drowning her sorrows in the Vic when Steve walks in with Sharon, Alfie and Roxy. Sharon asks Shirley why is she drinking in the daytime and Steve is unimpressed to find that that Shirley is in fact Jay's guardian. Shirley tells Alfie and Roxy that Rainie has brought the Cafe. Steve quizzes Jay on the Mitchells.

Jude cannot believe that her daughter Stevie has been living in Walford for nearly a year. Stevie asks her Mother what she is doing in Walford and she tells Stevie that she is new GP of the Albert Square Medical Centre. Jude tells Stevie that she goes back to Norfolk at weekends. Syed is angry with Christian for not coming home and demands to know where he has been. Christian later takes Syed out for dinner at 'Sharon's' but he sees Alex and tells Syed he is not feeling well. Christian later receives a text from Alex and they agree to meet in secret the next day.

Christian cancels his morning appointments to see Alex but Richard spots them in the Park. At the Medical Centre Richard reveals to Denise that he saw Christian with a mystery man. Denise tells Richard he must say something to Syed but Richard says he will speak to Christian first. Whitney goes to see Jude at the surgery and gets a shock.

Phil is convicted on two counts of manslaughter and sentenced to seven years in Prison. Shirley and the Mitchells return to Walford devastated and Shirley goes into hiding. Roxy lashes out at Jay for not caring but Steve stands up to her. Sharon is feeling sorry for Shirley but Jack reminds her of what Phil did. Ian decides that Ben needs to move in with him rather than going to live with Peggy. Roxy tells Alfie that the Mitchells will swear revenge on the Brannings and Janine and Jude and Stevie move into their new house.

Jack meets Rupert and tells him to keep his head down on the Square regarding his job but Rupert tells Jack he is the new community liaison officer. Max sacks Maxine at the Bookies which creates friction with Derek. Lucy clashes with Ben at home and Richard reluctantly agrees to accompany Rainie to Alex's to try and get Christian back to the Square. Shirley leaves Walford for Spain and tells Ben and Deano she will not be coming back.

Sharon asks Jack to move into Number 5 with him but Roxy is unhappy that Amy will have another women in the same house as her. Jack insists that Roxy stays away from Amy unless she has supervised visits. Cora tells Rainie that she is worried the Cafe will suffer as Jean is incapable of running it on her own. Rainie tells Cora she really needs to help Christian and Syed. Roxy agrees to run the cafe with Jean while Rainie helps out Christian and Syed.

Cora pulls Zainab over and tells her to shut up and Rainie is trying to help Christian. Richard and Rainie bring back Christian to the Square and Christian moves in with Rainie. Sharon gets a call from Michelle in America, Michelle's son Mark Jnr wants to come to London for the Summer.

Rainie hears that Alex has been arrested for attempted murder. Deborah asks Rainie about her family history which puzzles her as Christian is her client not her. Ben tells Jay he thinks Steve is gay.

Derek advises Rupert not too cross him but Rupert stands up to Derek telling him it is his job to police the Square. Jack advises Rupert to be careful of his brother. Deborah tells Rainie she has to leave as her son is waiting for her but Rainie suspects Deborah's motives are deeper and wants to know what is going on. Rainie follows Tanya upstairs and Cora is forced to tell her daughters the truth. The Police arrive on the Square and Phil and Malone stake out Billy's old flat but a unstable Malone is making the siege plan difficult for Phil. Mark settles into Number 5 and asks questions about his Father to Sharon. Steve's guilt sets in as he attempts to find Jay.

Sharon tells Mark she needs to call his Father in Portugal as he is needed back on the Square right away. Marsden asks Jack to join her and the other Police on the Square as Malone and Phil have been spotted in Walford but cannot be traced. Jude is worried that Rupert is going to be unsafe now that the Police presence is building up around the Square but Marsden tells her that Rupert is trained for this kind of work. Jay confronts Steve about his rape but Steve tells him he will kill him if he reports the attack to the Police. Cora reveals the truth to Tanya and Rainie about Deborah and tells them she was raped by a unknown man when she was 21. Tanya and Rainie promise to stand by their mother. Phil contacts Jack and tells him that he is going to blow up the Square...

Jack, Marsden and Rupert advise the Square's residents to seek refuge in the Community centre as Phil and Malone are armed and dangerous. Derek, Maxine and Jamie are in danger as Phil approaches their house armed with matches. Jude tells Marsden she cant close the Medical Centre and some people are advised to stay in the Medical Centre which is locked up. Cora and her daughters talk about her past and Cora reveals that her Parents Lenny and Marge told her to give up her baby. Cora tells her daughters that she does not want to see Deborah as it brings back painful memories. Grant arrives back on the Square and goes straight to Sharon and Jack's. A crazed Phil lights a match and throws it through his old house..

The Square looks on in horror as Phil's old house is on fire and Derek, Maxine and Jamie are stuck inside. Sharon tells Grant that Phil and Malone are somewhere in the Square and Ali gets shot in the crossfire by Malone when walking past Billy's old flat. Sharon tells Grant that Mark is his son and Grant is left in complete shock but at this time he needs to find Phil. Ali is pronounced dead when he is carried into the Vic. Phil and Malone head for the Surgery and there are at least six people inside. The Fire brigade attempt to rescue Derek, Maxine and Jamie but only Jamie manages to get out of the house are Derek and Maxine dead?

Derek and Maxine are rushed to Hospital and The Police manage to catch Malone but he is shot in the crossfire, Phil breaks into the Medical Centre and takes Janine, Roxy, Syed, Richard, Jude and Denise hostage. Grant tells Marsden to let him talk to Phil but she is unsure. Grant tells Sharon and Jack that Phil will kill everybody inside unless he speaks to him. Zainab, Alfie, Ada, Patrick, Kim and Michael are stricken with worry about their loved ones inside the centre. Sam arrives in the Square to find that Jude has been taken hostage by Phil. Roxy pleads with Phil to put his gun down but he refuses. Marsden agrees that Grant can speak to Phil. Grant tells Phil to give himself up. Phil releases Syed, Richard and Jude but refuses to release the others. Richard, Syed and Jude make there way out onto the Square and Phil tells Grant he is going to blow the Centre up and kill Denise and Janine. Roxy runs at Phil telling him to put his gun down but he loses control of his gun and it fires off hitting Roxy...is she dead? Grant enters the Medical Centre and manages to overpower Phil but Roxy is lying on the floor and losing blood. Denise and Janine manage to escape and the Police enter the Centre and cuff Phil. Jamie gets bad news about his Mother from the hospital and Roxy is rushed into hospital.

Will the Square ever recover? Derek is in hospital and Jamie learns that his Mum has died. Denise learns that Ali has been killed. Marsden confirms that Malone has died and Phil is back in custody. Roxy is in hospital and remains critical. Shirley returns to Walford with her sister Tina and walks straight into a minefield. Cora tells Tanya that the events of the previous week have made her realise that she needs to meet Deborah. Sam's introduction to Albert Square is not what he expected and Grant tells Sharon that she needs to leave Jack.

Jamie's brother Danny arrives in the Square and both Jamie and Danny visit their Father in Hospital and break the news that Maxine has died. Sharon is torn between Grant and Jack as she struggles to come to terms with Phil's crimes. Jay is feeling isolated and has still not told anybody what happened to him in the Arches but after turning to the bottle he confesses to Ben that Steve raped him and Ben tells him to go to the Police. Shirley and Alfie are at Roxy's bedside but Roxy loses her fight for life.

Jack and Grant are at loggerheads over Roxy's death but Sharon tells Grant that Phil is to blame here not Jack. Peggy calls Grant telling him she wants Ben to come to Portugal for the summer but Grant does not mention Mark to her. Sharon tells Grant that he has to make an effort with Mark despite the fact that the Square is in shock. Ali Osman arrives in Walford to to take his sons body back to Cyprus and meets up with Ian and Sharon. Ben and Jay go to the Police station and Jay tells them that he was raped.

Cora meets Deborah and explains why she gave her up all those years ago but Deborah is unsure whether she wants to get to know her birth Mother. The Police arrest Steve for Jay's rape and his wife Mary accuses Jay of coming onto her husband. Ben tells Sharon that Steve has been arrested for Jay's rape and Sharon is lost for words on how bad the past two weeks have been. Grant gets to know his son and Ali leaves Walford after catching up with Ian. Alfie admits to Ian he no longer wants to stay in Walford and plans to go to Australia to see Spencer.

Sharon tells Shirley that Jay has been attacked by Steve but fails to tell her the full story feeling Jay has to do that, later Jay tells Ben to tell Shirley but Shirley cant handle it. Steve is in custody and tells the Police that Jay agreed to sex with him. Mary turns up drunk at Number 5 at verbally abuses Jay infront of Sharon and Jack. Ronnie comes face to face with Glenda and Jack and Shirley finds the service too much and leaves early. Syed supports a broken Christian and tells him how much he loves him. Jack tells Sharon he blames himself for Roxy's death. Cora puts on the wake for Roxy back at the Vic and the Square toast Roxy's memory. Alfie says goodbye to Albert Square as he leaves for Australia. Glenda slips quietly away from the Vic.

Babs continues to pressure Cora into buying the Vic and the sisters end up arguing and Tanya backs her Mum up when Tanya tells Babs it is Sharon's decision. A depressed Whitney splits up with Fatboy and tells him she does not want to live anymore.

Denise and Kim realise they can no longer run the B & B and go to the bank for a loan, however the bank turns them down. Janine gets wind that the B & B is for sale and agrees to buy it and then sell it to Derek as Derek and his sons have not been able to move back into their old house which was gutted in the Siege. Derek tells Denise and Kim that he has bought the B & B and that himself and his sons will be moving in. Derek tells Denise that himself and Kim can live there but he doubles their rent.

Dot tells Carol that Whitney is suffering from a severe depression and encourages Bianca to make amends with her. Jean suffers a setback in her mental health when she loses her tablets and Rainie is forced to contact Jude when Jean goes missing.

Jay and Ben return from Spain and Deano invites Jay to move in with him while Ben moves back in with Ian. Sharon has business matters to deal with as Jay tells her he is unsure whether he wants to go back to the Arches.

Cora and Babs meet Sharon to discuss the Vic and Sharon tells them how much the Vic means to her and tells them she wont sell it but is willing to co own it with Babs and Cora. Cora worries that Babs will have more control over the Vic as she has the money but Sharon tells them they can be co landladies. Jay begins his therapy with Richard and Deborah and Matthew move into Albert Square. Jack tells Sharon that Danny is a qualified mechanic and wants to stay in Walford but would Jay work with a Branning.

The Brannings and The Crosses welcome Deborah and Matthew to the Square with a big family meal at the Vic but Babs upsets Cora and Deborah with a snide comment about Deborah's sexuality. Sharon speaks to Danny about the Arches job and Jay opens up to Deano about his rape and gets a shock when Deano admits something dark from his own past.

It is a big day for Sam as he takes over as Headmaster of Walford High, Abi. Ben and Caroline are not happy that their new Headmaster is also lives on the Square. Zainab and Massod make final plans for their wedding but Zainab is not happy that Shabnam seems to be more Interested in spending time with Rupert than helping her Mother. Christian is on the road to recovery but tells Syed he misses Roxy so much.

Sam makes his mark at Walford High but not all his pupils are happy. Syed worries that Roxy's death could destabilise Christian's drug recovery and he turns to Rainie for help. Deborah moves her practice into the medical centre and a working lunch with Jude at 'Sharon's' sparks an attraction between herself and Lizzie. Jay remains shocked by Deano's news and starts to avoid him. Zainab enlists Denises and Jean's help for the Wedding.

Bianca crosses swords with Sam when he keeps Liam behind for detention and Sharon tells Jay that Danny is taking over as the Manager of the Arches. Jay gets a letter from the court saying that Steve's trial will be in November. Jamie admits to Cora that his Dad is controlling and that Denise and Kim are scared of him.

Ben develops a crush on Matthew. Jay tells Sharon that Steve's court date has been arranged and Jay admits to Deano that he is ashamed of himself because of the rape. Sharon goes to see Richard and tells him that she is worried about Jay and the looming court case. Zainab clashes with Shabnam over her relationship with Rupert.

Caroline asks her Mum what is going on with Deborah Morris and Lizzie tells her that she went for a drink with Deborah. Kenny bumps into Deborah in the Square and tells her to stay away from Lizzie. Lizzie reveals to her Father the real reason why her and her late husband Gareth separted- she had an affair with another woman. Kenny asks Lizzie if she is a lesbian and Lizzie says that she prefers women to men. Kenny tells Lizzie that Caroline would be subject to ridicule at school. Massod and Zainab invite Jude and Sam to dinner to discuss Shabnam and Rupert's relationship.

Caroline goes to see Matthew and asks him about his Mum, Matthew tells her that his Mum is a lesbian and he is fine about that. Lizzie steals herself to tell Caroline her real sexuality but Kenny worries it will have a big effect on her. Richard reveals a secret to Syed about his family.

Kenny confides in Ian about Lizzie and Lucy overhears the conversation. Lucy meets Caroline in the Square and torments her over her Mum's sexuality. Caroline goes to see her Mum and asks her the truth on why she left her Father and Lizzie is forced to tell Caroline the truth. Richard reveals to Syed that his Mum is in a nursing home with Parkinson's and that he has not seen her for over a year as his Dad is ashamed of his sexuality. Syed encourages Richard to visit his Mother. Shabham tells Zainab that she is bringing Rupert to herself and Massod's wedding.

It is the day of Zainab and Massod's wedding and the Square is out in force to help them celebrate. Rupert attends the wedding with Shabnam and Zainab and Massod tell her that while they wish she was with a muslim boy they approve of Rupert. Richard goes to see his Mother but asks the Nurse at the care home not to reveal to his Father that he has been to see her. Sharon opens up the bistro for Zainab and Massod's reception but there is a shock in store for both Ian and Massod when an old face returns to the Square.

Denise and Kim decide to get away from it all by booking a holiday to Ibiza to see Kat but Jean finds out and tells Denise she is really missing Kat and before long Cora and Rainie are on board too. Lucy continues to create problems for Caroline over her Mum's sexuality before Kenny is forced to step in and warn Ian that Caroline is being bullied by her cousin.

Syed tells Jane that Christian became involved with another man and developed a drug problem. Jane goes to see Jack about Christian's job at the Gym and Jack agrees to take Christian back. Richard meets his Father for the first time in three years at the Nursing home when he goes to visit Eleanor again but an angry Simon tells him to go away. Richard stands up to his Father and tells him he will visit his Mother as much as he can because she is dying. Stevie returns to Walford after her European trip and flies into an argument with her Father about her plans. Jane ponders her future in Walford and Matthew and Caroline stand up for their Mothers against Lucy.

Richard invites his Father to Walford and Simon is impressed when Jude tells him what an asset Richard is to the Medical Practice. Richard decides to introduce Simon to Christian and Syed and they get along well. Christian tells Simon that he was estranged from his own parents for years because of his sexuality. Simon agrees to call a truce with Richard and agrees that Richard should see his Mother as much as he can while he has the chance.

Eleanor tells Richard that she wants himself and his Father to look after each other when she is gone. Christian goes to see Deborah at the Medical Centre and she is pleased with his progress. Christian admits to Syed that he is envious of his friendship with Richard and Syed admits it is tough for him at the moment caring for Christian and trying to support Richard too. Deborah and Lizzie tell their respective parents about their romance.

Tanya is called into the surgery by Jude and Jude gives her some unsettling news. Deborah sees Tanya sitting on Arthur's bench and Tanya tells her sister her cancer has returned. Stevie and Shabnam consider going into business together and while Jude and Rupert are supportive Sam has his reservations. Jude warns Sam that they will lose Stevie again if he continues to put her down.

Janine gives birth to a baby boy who Michael and her call Richard Francis Moon. Janine admits to Michael she wishes Pat and Ricky were still here to see baby. Janine is pleased when Sharon comes to visit her but remains hurt when much of the Square stays away. Richard and Simon gather around Eleanor as her condition worses. Cora, Rainie, Denise and Kim prepare for their trip to Ibiza and Babs admits she is looking forward to running The Vic while Cora is away.
