The DS "Facebook" comments on X Factor News Articles

Are these people for real? Ok, sure, they appear to be using facebook as some sort of "this is my worldview", which automatically relegates them to foolish social media obsession status, but there could be a story about animals taking a crap and you'd expect to see lines of strange looking people posting about how amazing it is.

Maybe it's just me, but seriously, there's some "worrying" comments infecting DS' regurgitated paraphrasing of tabloid articles on there!

At least Facebook was hacked this week, there's a silver lining.

It is quite creepy isn't it? That Oz character is rather disturbing with his obsession. Especially considering he was begging (literally) every week for people to vote for Marcus then as soon as his original favourite came back he starts insulting Marcus and Little Mix and praising Amelia like she is the 2nd coming

Some of the comments are actually crazy. It seems like people think Little Mix hold guns to the producer's heads, Marcus killed Misha, Janet murdered puppies etc. judging from some of the absurd over the top comments.

Yep! Thank goodness someone else is noticing this!

The best one was someone getting overly excited about Westlife, One Direction and JLS performing at the final, calling them "groundbreaking acts" - followed by "confirmation" JLS and Wand Erection have never mimed

Being judgemental of people who are posting under their own names whilst posting under an alias yourself here comes across a little cowardly - IMO the DS Facebook comments and forums should always be kept separate for this reason. It just doesn't work otherwise, as anonymity leads to keyboard-warrior-ism - for fair discussions, either we all use our real names or none of us do. This part of DS is for posting under aliases, that part for posting under your own name. If you have something to say to someone posting a comment under their own name, I suggest you go do that there, unless you're happy to look a little bit nasty.

Yet you've just done that - and more the power to you, so much so I'm not even going to introduce you to a wonderful thing called paragraph breaks

More so, more the fool them for highlighting their stupidity IF they are using their real names (which I doubt).

PS I don't have Facebook as I'm not yearning for online friends, I'm not looking to picking up married women (as seems to be what everyone I know uses it for).

Oh that's a shame I could have chatted you up, kidding, and I agree with you, I have a facebook page but I rarely use it, other than to find out what son number one is up to with his DJing..

No, I haven't. I've posted on the forum about people on the forum, the problem when it's anonymous sniping of non-anonymous people. Not to mention that it would take anyone all of one click from any of my posts to find the name I post under in the comments - it doesn't take Sherlock.

The clue's in the name - you're not meant to use a paragraph break after every sentence, they're for, well, using after every paragraph. Maybe I'm still in essay-writing mode, but that seems like a perfectly acceptable-length paragraph to me.

Eh? So because they've posted under their real names it's acceptable to have the piss taken out of them anonymously, and they're foolish for using a platform based on openness and NOT anonymity to voice their views? Quite a jump in logic there. Also, they've bothered to make fake Facebook accounts and get hundreds of fake friends to do so? Well, okay, if you say so...

I use Facebook to keep in touch with my friends all around the country. I'm not FB friends with anyone I'm not personal friends with, and nobody's tried to pick me up!

Not sure if that means I'm doing it wrong....or perhaps right!

I imagine that's not really him. There's been very little activity on that profile other than uploading that photo & liking a few pages and that account has been about for a while.

Hmm, I was a little suspicious when I checked his wall and saw that his language had recently been changed to UK English...how often do people change their language?
