I'm surprised that Britney got to Number 3 in the Singles list, seeing as RS definitely had a focus on less-mainstream acts this year. I like the song, but it's weird.

But I'm happy for Adele.

I'm surprised Adele got album of the year as I'm sure they gave it a (relatively) tepid review on release?

I really like it (as you know) but sales do have an odd effect on critics sometimes, and will also have an odd effect at the Grammys next year.

I allowed myself a little smile when I saw that. It's a good album.

Paul Simon's album is a remarkable return to (almost) the glory days of Graceland IMO.

I think I was stuck in study land and under a self-imposed media blackout when it came out so it kind of passed me by. I'm definitely going to check it out now seeing these recommendations. Graceland is such an amazing album.

One thing I learned from the list is that there's an artist named 'Mr. Mutha****in' eXquire et al.'. That's quite a name.

Nice to see The Edge of Glory get some recognition at number 7 and You and I that was unexpected. Rolling in the Deep deserves the number one though, strange Someone Like You wasn’t included unless I missed it.

Edge of Glory is number seven and yet team gaga didn't throw it in for Grammy consideration. Wonder why?

The others under consideration for Grammys aren't showing in top 50. I'm guessing they may have been in last years top 50?

Not at all consistent with any of their reviews at the time of release. In that case they have been clearly influenced by popularity and other critics. Due to that this list to me severely lacks credibility

To be fair, though, I'm suspecting the reviews are done by one journalist and this list is made up by the votes of all the journalists who work for RS? Just a thought.
