I think she was quite bitchy this week. I don't think Rachel realised, but that comment about 'waiting for the Rachel Crow doll, with her own bathroom' was nasty. I took it as a comment directed at the audience, essentially saying 'She's just a kid. It's time for her to go now'.

And I've forgotten the actual wording so can't quote her, but what she said to Marcus in his second VT (after he'd quite ludicrously been saved over Drew last week) annoyed me as well. She came out with something similarly ridiculous to justify her tactical voting after his first performance, too.

I think she's great. The fact that she dislikes Simon so much makes me have even more respect for her.

Women standing up for themselves rarely get the respect they deserve. I'm no Nicole fan, but at least she's saying what she thinks and not just toeing the same tedious line that Simon usually sets out.

As opposed to Tulisa who knows exactly what she's talking about when it comes to music?

I liked Nicole when she did the UK Xfactor stint last year, but she's hideous on US X Factor. She's shown herself to have a very nasty side, and her comments are almost always "WTF" moments. She actually makes Paula look sane.

And as for her "Unlike Simon I take risks with my acts" how exactly is making a rocker sing Dirty Diana on MJ week a risk?!?

People seemed to really like Nicole on the UK X Factor last year, when for the most part she was a damp squib, offering nothing more than the usual platitudes about how cute they all were blah blah blah. In other words, she fell into the acceptable nice / docile / feminine role people wanted her to.

Now she's a bonafide judge on a different version of the show, and she's showing some teeth with other acts and judges, she's being labelled as "stupid", "crap" and "pointless" by the same people that most likely trumpeted her appearances on the UK version.

As I've said, I have no biases with Nicole - I admit I bought 'Don't Hold Your Breath, but ANYONE could have been singing that - I just dislike the way that the minute a woman starts making comments that fall out of the usual niceties, she's hounded for it. She's said nothing worse than any of the men on these shows ever say, but somehow, by possessing a uterus, she's deemed the true villain of the piece.
