So obviously none of Louis' acts would be allowed to get to the final.

As he's a manager, not a performer.

I wonder what they'd have done if Kitty had "connected" with the public more

I don't think anyone expected an over 25 to be the final anyway and if by some miracle people had voted for any of them then they wouldn't have done this twist.

Think he would have just got Westlife to take his place, afterall they have been confirmed to be performing at the final.

Are you sure you're not putting the horse before the cart here? You've assumed the duet thing was planned from the start and not thought of because Louis was out and the three left were all performers.

Had Littlemix gone out this week, they wouldn't have done it as it would have meant Kelly would have had to have sung twice.

You are joking, aren't you?! This obviously wasn't planned from the start.

Obviously? Why? How do you know?

It was probably among a range of options discussed but they never decide for sure until they see who is going to be in the final. One of Louis's acts could have ended up in the final, in which case the outcome wuld have been different. This from someone in production on the show by the way.

Either that or the judge who didn't have a contestant in the final would have been drafted in to duet with Louis' contestant.

i beleive this was planned from the point that louis had no act in the final. i am pretty sure that it was clear that misha b was not going to be in the final from her voting performance so barring a massive shift in public opinion they've known who the fianl 3 would be for about 2 weeks at least.

I don't think anyone ever expected Louis to reach the finals anyway.

Johnny was a novelty act, Kitty was pretty much hated by the public and Sami was just another generic big voiced female singer. He didn't stand a chance.

And he is not supposed to either. His acts are always cannon fodder

What do you mean by 'cannon fodder'?

To be fair, he did get JLS under the groups. That's the only exception I can think of though.

Just sounds like a money saving ploy to me. They just want to get their money's worth out of Barlow, Tulisa and Kelly. I'm really disappointed that they're not duetting with bigger names.

The ones who are never in a million years gonna win it. (Not his fault, they always give him the rubbish category). JLS was a rare exception.

It'll be all about availability though. Really big names are likely to be busy unless they're coming through the UK with something to promote. The show's gone rapidly downhill too, so there isn't as much kudos as there once was.

I'm guessing all the big names became busy when they saw the quality of the final three

I think they would just have sung with Louis.

I am worried about Tulisa's duet. After he Children in Need performance, I don't know if she can perform well enough any more?
