Now that we know she is the highest paid judge, how about we replace her with someone like Karen Hardy who will be much cheaper. After all, I keep being told Alesha is a very successful singer, so she'll be fine.

No thanks, she gets on my nerves on ITT, gushing over everything.

Alesha is the only judge who is more like a "real person" out of the four.

No disrespect intended, but the BBC aren't going to change any of the panel, suggesting it is a waste of time.

Great idea, why don't you pass that on to the BBC.

They could easily get a better judge for less money and Alesha will be quite desperate to keep the job now she has lost yet an other recording contract. So the BBC could renegotiate for next year.

I wonder how her getting paid more sits with the other judges? Are they resentful?

It would be nice to see Alesha in another SCD role. She would be good at something like popping into the training rooms and reporting for ITT. It's something she knows about.

I know the BBC is trying to appeal to a younger audience with those idiotic VTs (not working, btw, my children are just shaking their heads every Saturday in bemusement), but to put somebody on the judging panel that speaks as if they are addressing 5 year olds permanently is really a step to far.

I wish I would get this Karen love. Every Wednesday she is just stating the obvious in the most irritatingly patronising manner.

Do we have to take Artem out of the bin first, or is there room for both of them?

Well how about Camilla. She is a fantastic dancer who knows ballroom and latin. Same goes for Lilia. I get the feeling they would be far more objective and more realistic with their marking

I find it fascinating every time a replace some / all judges thread appears, it is full of people saying
"why don't get Beeb get Karen / Camilla /Ian Waite / Liberace / Beyonce?"

Maybe they don't want the job?
Maybe they have already been asked and said no thank you very much?

Camilla has expressed the view she would like to be a judge on the show. Why not Camilla, amazing dancer and choreographer. Stunningly beautiful with it

There's not much room because I've moved in there on a semi-permanent basis to look after his back and protect him from Strictly obsessives bearing no resemblance to me , but he's really not accepting that being rubbish is a good thing. So we might be there a while.

I stand corrected.

*Shock, horror......DS member admits they were wrong....
It'll never catch on....

The thing that Camilla has is that the judges have raved about her choreography. Craig in particular, she has a great technical knowledge and a proven track record as a teacher too. I don't understand why the PTB don't ask her to be a judge

I think the pros would be happier to accept comments from Camilla knowing they were informed comments

This made me laugh on so many levels!

hi footygirl hope you're well.

am so sorry, I couldn't stand Camilla! I never enjoyed her choreography or her dancing - was always too "flailing" for me. Each to their own tho.

I don't really want to see any past pro dancer on the judging panel. When the show was more about the actual dancing and correct judging thereof, I would have liked Shirley Ballas on the panel.

Now the show has changed (not a criticism) I'm not sure at all what I want to see since there is no regularity of judging in the proper form of the dances so much now, so even though I'm not Alesha's greatest fan, I am reasonably happy with who we've got now.

Sometimes better the devil you know!

Since 2 out of the 3 other judges don't seem to use any regular criteria for judging, I don't really see Alesha's lack of a professional dance background really matters.

Well Len and Criag seem to be technically minded- Craig has given feedback on technique and Len of course has a background in dancing himself before beginning judging

They are, yes - but Len in particular has been inconsistent - i.e. allowing Brendan and Lulu a lift, then cackling on about not allowing them in dances thereafter.

I think Craig has been more consistent though.

A while ago, I watched back a few YouTube dances from earlier series, and difference in the things Len in particular used to pick up on back then, that he just doesn't now, is incredible.

I can understand them tempering their technicalities on the judging because we seem to get more showdance-type versions of each dance more now, certainly in the earlier stages of this year's competition, but to my mind, there hasn't been any consistency at all.

Haven't there been enough threads on this?

Maybe you should all write a petition to remove Alesha from the judges panel. If she is as unpopular as you guys make her out to be you won't have any problem getting thousands of signature for the petition, and the BBC will have to listen to you then!

The BBC could save even more money by binning Brucie.

Just a thought.

A good one. Don't want Camilla. Found her antiseptic and cold. How about Jason Gardiner now he's free? Or Christine Bleakley to big up the WAG factor?

More ways to save money at the BEEB. As Tess clearly wants to look like Cat Deeley, why doesn't she wear her cast-offs from So You Think You Can Dance?
