BIB - Have the Pros ever shown any discontent or trouble accepting Alesha's comments? Genuine question, I've never heard them complaining but I don't always keep up with everything. It just seems to me that the judges that the pros argue or disagree with tend to be Len or Craig and no-one (well not recently ) is suggesting they should be consigned to the rubbish receptacle! In fact the couples, Nancy aside, seem to like Alesha's comments presumably because she scores more generously.

I wonder actually whether it is certain DS FMs who would be happier to accept comments from Camilla/Karen/Ian/ The Kitchen Sink (delete as appropriate)!

No thanks to her Camilla. Her blogs and slobbering over the males she'd need a drip tray. Another one voting with her ovaries.

I vote for The Kitchen Sink for new judge.

Trouble is,they would want to plug their latest book, and be inconsistant with their comments.

She is? I take it that the BBC has now published her salary rather than the Daily Mail assuming it to be a certain figure based upon rumours and speculation

Or maybe your obvious anti-Alesha agenda is clouding your judgement?

Hi TQ, saw your post on other thread but wasn't quick enough with a reply.

Hope you're good!

I agree with penguinperson Camilla should not be allowed anywhere near a judge's desk after that blog. She's like Arlene without the restraint.

Any past pro would be up against the preconditioning being a contestant on the show gives them. Camilla is obsessed with how hard it is for the Man to lead so would over mark the male celebrities. Karen seems to view any use of props as making things harder, rather than the distraction (from poor dancing) they are often used for (again only seemingly from a male celebrity are props use harder).

It is just as well there are not more women on the judging panel or female celebrity winners would be a thing of the past.

this is what it did to my blood pressure when I read in the paper that Alesha was the highest paid judge

Would they dare? They only like Alesha's comments when the real judges slate their celeb.

You're confusing the issue, Alesha isn't being paid for her judging abilities, what ever gave you that idea?

This show is firstly a Saturday night entertainment programme.

Any attempt to make it more like Come Dancing would in the opinion of the BBC be a "ratings dis-hastah darling" so it won't happen. Alesha is paid in relation to the BBC's perception of her viewer appeal. They won't be changing her for anyone.

... in that probably many millions less people would watch it, it would therefore be seen by a restricted audience and would no longer be judged by both viewer and BBC as being suitable for a Saturday evening slot, and would end up being shunted off to a late-night slot during the week (and maybe being axed at some point).

...and this is what happened to me when I read that your blood pressure was raised after reading a RUMOUR from a sensationalist tabloid (DM), that a judge on an entertainment programme is getting paid well.......I'd go see the doctor if I were you.

Good post, we should all note that this is indeed !a RUMOUR from a sensationalist tabloid (DM)" and one that has a history of using any excuse to attack the BBC.

This is true, but for the reasons I gave earlier, she's likely to be paid a lot more than the other judges.
It ain't "rocket salad."

For the BBC money is no object when it comes to SCD - they are even the shipping cast and crew of ITT up to Blackpool next week. As for the judges', and Bruce's, pay - if you think 'we are all in this together', think again.

Bruce's pay alone would pay for a whole raft of Wardrobe elves to prevent further malfunctions

Okay, I'll go with that. But what viewer appeal - most posts absolutely loathe her. You could hardly describe her as a resounding success story so why is she still there?

Sorry to state the obvious, but not all SCD viewers post on Digital Spy. I wonder what percentage of SCD viewers post on here or other forums? So to say she's not a resounding success by analysing posts isn't accurate.

You could argue however, that she has many detractors or people who have an irrational dislike for her on Digital Spy, but I don't think that really matters to the BBC or the viewing figures in the long run.

By chance I saw the repeat last night....all three judges were on top form...particularly Alesha.....Personally I think she`s great....Strictly has always been an entertainment show and that`s why the format has sold around the World....A dancing competition in it`s truest form with proper technical judging by panel of competition judges just is`t going to work for a prime time TV show.....It`s showbiz my friends...whether you like it or not.
