I would think very few of Alesha's admirers post on the SCD board. This is mostly used by true dance enthusiasts.
Strictly is a Saturday night family entertainment show, in some respects, they are poles apart.

I dont loathe Alesha either

In fact at times she gets a lot of respect on here and the year she danced was a big favorite on here

A significant percentage of FM`s on DS dislike everyone....and the more successful they are...the more they dislike them.....and if they earn a few quid...the venom spouted in their direction increases still further.

Joining in with the "don't loathe Alesha" opinions.

Okay she judges with her crotch half the time but then so does Bruno. Karen and Camilla have also shown tendencies to toddle off in that direction; Karen has appeared somewhat moist after the odd Harry dance on ITT and Camilla's vibrating knickers have gone into overdrive after almost every dance Robbie's ever done. If it aint broke, don't fix it (cue the BBC sending a chippie to SCD with a big hammer...)

I don't loathe her either. In fact I like her on the panel as I feel she has found her feet following a shaky start, and I'll be delighted when she returns next year... and the year after. I like all 4 judges actually and quite enjoy the 'lively discussions' they incite on these boards as it means they're doing their job, which is judging an entertainment show on prime time BBC.

I always thought the mix didn't seem right with Arlene - 3 non-ballroom choreographers, 3 judges over 50, and 3 of them churning out pre-scripted soundbites. Alesha wouldn't have been my choice, but now she's been here 3 series I feel the mix is just right.

Couldn't have put it better!

Maybe the Beeb aren't interested? Just a thought. I wouldn't hire Camilla for the panel even if she offered her services free of charge. Ditto St Karen of Hardy.

So they shouldn't try to do something a bit special for the Final, and give the ITT viewers an opportunity to see behind the scenes on the Friday Yes, they are only there for one day, quite possibly using the same crew that will be there anyway, and the cast of er, Zoe Balll and quite possibly a few guests who would have had to have been accommodated in London. And the celebs and pros - yes, they will already be there.

So not really much to ship up there ......

They shouldn't bin Alesha. She's there as a former contestant giving her take on the current celebs. performances, and I think she's been great doing that this year. I couldn't bear it if Camilla or Karen took her place - don't like either of them.

Where do you get the idea that most users of this fourm are dance enthusiasts? The SCD forum is used by general fans of the show.

SCD is a family entertainment show. It's also a popularity contest AND a dancing competition.

Dancing and judging are not the same. Respect? Don't make me laugh

Err..

The percentage of people who post on here who aren't that interested in ballroom will be tiny fraction of those who watch the programme.
Read the topic threads, they are mostly made by people interested in dance. But what I referred to was "Alisha's Admirers," they don't have to be interested in ballroom.

Oh, okay.

Alesha, Bruno, Karen and Camilla are all big, old slappers who'd give an 8 to a waxwork if it was of a fit bloke with his top off. Despite that, Alesha's bedded down reasonably well on the panel now and there's no need for change imo.

That better?

As I said earlier, the BBC won't change her for a professional dancer, they don't care about her "qualifications" as far as they are concerned, they aren't important.

Agreed, but as it obviously isn't her overwhelming popularity with viewers, what is it?

As I said earlier, the "knock-on" effect of her winning revitalised her musical career, for what it's worth.
She had her "fifteen minutes of fame," with a lot of media attention, far more than any of the existing judges other than Arlene ever had, the BBC just capitalised on it.

This is DS.
Opinion is presented as fact

Aren't you aware that posters with an agenda, those with an axe to grind, never need proof. They just know that they are right, and where opinion is actually fact.

Well this is my opinion for what it is worth. She is over-paid and under-qualified, so folks if you want to get on in life - here are a few tips - be loud, be lairy, be indiscreet, drool over men's guns and swig from a bottle of wine - well it works for Alesha. She has a beautiful face and looks like a lady - but it all goes downhill when she opens her mouth!

Most of what you have just posted applies to Tess as well - she is loud, has been known to be indiscreet (trying to drum up showmances), drools over men's guns (Austin, anyone?), has a beautiful face and looks like a lady, but it all goes downhill when she opens her mouth. I take it you don't like her either then?

Nope - Tess "Woodentop" Daley - but it just proves my point - be loud, be lairy, letch over men but have the face of an angel and the BBC will employ you and not only will they employ you - but give you one of the top jobs in prime time television. Forget talent - just invest in botox and plastic!! Come on girls lets go and enrol at The Alesha Dixon and Tess Daley School of How to Get on in Broadcasting with Little or No Talent!!

Not trying to hate on her, but her earning the most money out of all those judges is a joke.

It's not like she's a huge star who has sold millions etc...

Your opinion for what it's worth, isn't worth much. This is not the first time you have called Alesha loud and lairy and commented about when she "opens her mouth". You don't know Alesha, you probably never will. But I could arrange for you to meet her and perhaps you would like to say it to her face. You couldn't be further from the truth with your observations. And I must say your posts smacks of jealousy.

Hang on!
The whole show is a joke! Well at least an enjoyable pantomime.

It's pointless trying to equate pay levels to qualifications, if you did you'd have to sack half the people appearing on your TV.
It's down to who the BBC perceive as having audience appeal.
There's plenty of people in TV I wouldn't pay in buttons, but there's nothing I can do apart from putting up with them or not watch the programmes in which they appear. Neither way would I lose any sleep over them.
