There can only be one... the year of Lord Wagner... nothing can compare!

2005. All the things that make the show such a crap heap where there in that year, but at least I genuinly cared about the singers and it was more of a simple competition then than the spectacle it is now.
The X factor's fame has been its undoing.
It has had no credibilty since the winning of Leon Jackson.

2008 had the most worthy winner, Alexandra.
If LM win, this year will also be the best along with 2008.
If Marcus wins it'll be the same old typical flop winner.

2008 had the best talent. Aside from the anomaly of Eoghan Quigg.

2008, Cheryl's first year, Alexandra won.

There was just something about that series. We had a great mix of contestants and it was Cheryl's first year so it felt fresh. The final was brilliant; We had Beyonce duetting with Alex which is an X Factor classic moment, and when it came down to Alex and JLS, you just couldn't predict who would win it which made it really exciting.

personally I enjoyed Leona year. When you see Leona's winners song's video, Simon seems really pleased and hugs both her and ray (obviously I am aware he is just probably seeing £+$ signs!!) but he seemed to really like both of the final acts.

I know its probably a horrible thing to say, but didn't like shows when alexandra or Joe won but that was more to do with the fact I can't stand Cheryl Cole, which is probably unfair on the acts esp alex as she was good!!

2008 was definitely the best and most diverse year, although 2005 comes close too.

Hear, hear! Superbly talented top 3, Shane, Brenda, andy. And a really fun, innocent series. The contestants seemed to have a lot of fun, as did the judges and the presenters. Bring back Ben shepherd, Kate thornton and shazz Osborne!! The joke contestants were even fun and did not take themselves seriously. Chico! And we have Brenda and Shane in the west end 6 years later...

I agree, I just wore out the mute button on my remote that year thanks to Matt Cardle.
