Hi all,

i only bought this tv like 2 weeks ago so i am still
finding out how to work it. However, it says that the
refresh rate should be something like 500hz, but
when i go to the setting the highest it shows me to select
is only 50hz? How can i fix this?

Also, is there any best way in which to watch 3D?
I got the free 3d dvd player with it, however i am only playing
bluray dvds in it, should they still show up as good 3d?
for 3d i am only using the LG remote to select the tv function of 2d-3d.

thanks all.

You need to use the tv remote to get 3D from your Blu-Ray player.
The Blu-Ray player doesn't have a 3D button so I've no idea what you're pressing on it.

Are you sure you are not just seeing the SOURCE rate? That will only ever be 50Hz on UK broadcast TV. You might see 60Hz on US DVDs and 24 on Blu-Ray.

The 500Hz is probably pretty meaningless anyway and might not actually be the true refresh rate of the panel.

As for 3D, you will only get true 3D from 3D Blu-Ray disks. The TV may be able to generate some sort of 3D effect from 2D disks but how well it does that is dependent on the content of the disk and the sophistication of the processor in the TV.

So you are likely to get variable results from trying to watch non-3D material in 3D.

It isn't, it's just an advertising con - they are normally 100Hz sets..

But the set will display the SOURCE specifications, there would be no point displaying the TV specification as it would never change - you could just have a sticky label on the front if you wanted to do that.

It's possible to get DVDs to display in 3D (albeit a bit less sharply than Blu-Ray) on a 3D tv if you have the right source material. Probably not legal but definitely possible.

You mean simulated 3D, generated in the TV?.

And not a 'bit less sharp', massively less sharp

Certainly nothing illegal about it though.

Nope. Half SBS .mkv files aren't that hard to come by and the result, although not Blu-Ray (obviously) when burnt to dvd are still perfectly watchable.

I believe the refresh rate will only be 500hz if you enable the highest settings of Trumotion (10+10). Without TruMotion the refresh rate is 100hz.
