This was indeed what happened - Fred Taylor left the studio at the end of the first half, with NFL UK managing director Alistair Kirkwood joining Colin and Mike during the half-time interval. Guy McIntyre joined them in the studio towards the end of the game and for the postgame reaction on More4. The switchover from Channel 4 to More4 was made with just over one minute left in the game. Nothing happened after that, the teams just let the clock run down. So there you go. The postgame interviews were fun, that Jennifer Hale from Fox is something else. "Good luck on your flight home!"
That hat was something else.....!

She's far better than the woman on Sky Sports though who started an interview with Vernon Davis by calling him Colin

Loving the RLWC but the interviewing has been poor. Blatently obvious statements rather than questioing

Really have never 'got in' to Rugby League. Seen a little highlights of the RLWC, and naturally watched Scotland the other night, Dave Woods certainly is a hell of a lot better as a RL comm than a football one!

Scrum V Live: Newport Gwent Dragons v Leinster

Ross Harries presenting from Rodney Parade alongside Huw Bennett, with Sean Holley in the analysis truck

There's no Welsh language commentary option this evening as track cycling coverage is taking precedence on the Red Button.

This is how you give a commentator a send-off - Joe Buck and Tim McCarver share some mutual appreciation following the latter's final ever Major League Baseball commentary for Fox at the end of the World Series:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulZKqw_HKHg (I should point out that there's a spoiler as to the outcome of the series at the end of that video.)

This has been the first time I've watched Fox's coverage of the World Series (during Channel 5's run of covering Major League Baseball, I would always catch their relays of the MLB International world feed, while in recent years I've listened to BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra's commentaries instead) and I have to say I actually quite enjoyed listening to Buck and McCarver, which I wasn't expecting given the criticism both of them receive online. Perhaps familiarity has bred contempt among regular MLB on Fox viewers, but I found them to be an unobtrusive and agreeable listen with them able to drop in the odd stat and anecdote in the right places. I also found both of Fox's field reporters, Erin Andrews and Ken Rosenthal, to be good at what they did. I'm glad Tim got a fitting send-off, good luck to him in his retirement.

What a superb commentator Andrew Voss is, he has been a real highlight of this Rugby League World Cup for me. Superb turn of phrase and very down to earth

He is excellent i agree, who does he work for in Australia, is it Fox?

I know that he used to be at Nine, if he isn't commentating down under, then he is being wasted. Very talented.

Andrew Voss works for Sky NZ I'm sure. And Joe Buck is excellent.

Sunday 3rd November - BBC Two Wales

Scrum V Sunday

Ross Harries presented alongside Jonathan Davies, Huw Bennett and Sean Holley

RaboDirect Pro12
Scarlets v Ulster - Phil Steele and Robert Jones (as S4C red button)
Cardiff Blues v Treviso - Gareth Charles
Munster v Ospreys - Alun Jenkins
Newport Gwent Dragons v Leinster - Gareth Charles and Jonathan Davies

Principality Premiership
Round-up - Cat Peters (reporting)

Feature previewing Wales v South Africa (including interviews with Francois Louw, Thinus Delport and from the Springboks camp) - Ross Harries
Feature on the 50th anniversary dinner at Rodney Parade to celebrate Newport's 3-0 win over New Zealand in 1963 - Rick O'Shea

Lovely feature on Newport's 1963 win over the All Blacks featuring some great black and white footage. It is well worth a watch, they don't seem to have uploaded the report individually onto the Scrum V website but there is an extended version of it on the latest Scrum V Extra Time. Question for Shrewn, Realwales or possibly Robin Carmody - who was the BBC Wales commentator that we can hear on those fantastic old clips from 1963?

I can't tell really as i'm looking at it on the phone. David Parry Jones was the main guy (late 60's to early 90's) on TV, Alun Williams on radio. It sounds a bit like Bob Hudson, I associate him more with cricket, but he did do some rugby

Barclays ATP World Tour Finals

Sky Sports

Marcus Buckland presenting with Boris Becker, Greg Rusedski & Annabel Croft

Commentators : Mark Petchey, Barry Millns, Leif Shiras (all of whom are also doing interviews with players), Peter Fleming & Barry Cowan.

BBC

Sue Barker presenting with Andrew Castle & Tim Henman (who are also commentating).

Pathetic minimalist coverage from BBC. Sky's coverage is absolutely excellent on the other hand.

Weekday daytime coverage of a non-grand slam tennis event in which Murray isn't even playing, and you want the BBC to throw big money at it?

I appreciate that but it's the 5th biggest event of the year involving the biggest names in tennis. I have Sky and watch it there but it just seems like they could put a bit more effort into their coverage from what I've seen. Barker, Henman and Castle. It's turning into the tennis version of MOTD with the same names permeating their coverage.

Thanks for the information Shrewn. Have you had chance to listen via a PC/laptop yet to see if you can identify the commentator more clearly? A quick websearch doesn't bring up a name I'm afraid.

For my money, BBC Sport Wales does a very good job of utilising their sporting archive - not just through Scrum V and their other rugby nostalgia programmes, but with their recent football documentaries on the rise of Swansea City through the divisions and last week's one on the Cardiff City v Swansea City rivalry. It would be great if the network decided to follow their lead in this area.

I can't think of any other example of a broadcaster having a commentator and a co-commentator with the same name, especially in the same sport and the same competition. Let's hope for fun they pair up Woods and Woods on a match before the tournament is out.

Sadly I'm not much of a rugby league fan but I did watch some of the Wales match because it was being played in my home town, and I don't think any of the personnel were actually introduced at any point, I only recognised Noble from his brief in-vision appearance at the start, which is a bit rude.

In horse racing there are two Jim McGrath's. The Channel 4 one and the, now retired, BBC one

I think some of the Premier feed is also going out in Australia and New Zealand too so not sure if the show has already started with those companies and they have been introduced then.
