Big fan of Sonja McLaughlan. Think she is excellent at the interviews. I think BBC should use her more on TV

Sunday 24th November - BBC Two Wales
Scrum V Sunday Ross Harries presented alongside Kingsley Jones and Martyn Williams Autumn Internationals Wales v Tonga - Eddie Butler and Jonathan Davies, with Phil Steele conducting post-match interviews Ireland v New Zealand - Eddie Butler, Brian Moore and Phillip Matthews, with Sonja McLaughlan conducting post-match interviews Scotland v Australia - Andrew Cotter, Andy Nicol and Andy Robinson RaboDirect Pro12 Glasgow Warriors v Newport Gwent Dragons - Phil Steele Ospreys v Zebre - Nick Webb Connacht v Scarlets - Phil Steele Cardiff Blues v Munster - Gareth Charles and Tom Shanklin (as S4C red button) Lowri Morgan voiced the links between commentary clips from the round-up of Pro12 games involving the Welsh regions Feature on concussions with interviews from Dr Barry O'Driscoll, Jamie Roberts and Rory Lamont - Ross Harries Interview with Matt Burke (via Skype) - Ross Harries Given the limited entertainment value of the Wales game, thankfully Scrum V Sunday showed a much shorter edit of that game than they usually would for a Wales international and devoted more time to longer edits and analysis of the other games involving the Celtic nations, a Pro12 round-up and a very interesting (and non-parochial) feature on concussions in rugby union. |

Hmmm... She is OK for me. I'd say Jill Douglas was better to be honest.

Will Michael Holding be a part of Sky's commentary team for the rest of this Ashes series?

This may sound odd, but I think Jill Douglas is better at presenting and interviewing, but Sonja better at reporting

Sadly no. To accommodate another former England captain for this series in Andrew Strauss, someone had to make way and alas, it was poor Mikey.
![]() Are you 100% sure Holding didn't have prior engagements? |

Trying to remember there was a spell a few years back (when I think when Doyle left for ITV), when Douglas got to present some 6 Nations, did Sonja ever present any live rugby?
For me Jill is better at the pure broadcasting elements while Sonja has an excellent technical knowledge of rugby |

This based on fact or opinion ? Because I would wager you a large sum of money you are wrong.
And post no.94 of this thread is thinking along the same lines |

I'm not normally one for curling, but I spotted this sports broadcasting news story from Canada that I thought was worthy of a mention on here: Quote:
BURGUNDY TO JOIN TSN'S RAUTER TO CALL CURLING FROM WINNIPEG Stay classy, Winnipeg. TSN and the Canadian Curling Association confirmed Sunday that new TSN sportscaster Ron Burgundy will make his Canadian broadcasting debut during the opening day of the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings on Sunday, Dec. 1 beginning at 2pm et/11am pt. The announcement was made during TSN's broadcast of the 101st Grey Cup. Live from Winnipeg, Burgundy will join TSN's fellow "legendary" curling broadcaster Vic Rauter to call live game action during the network's coverage of the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings opening draw. "Marked by the gods of broadcasting and placed into this shimmering green sphere like a golden egg in hay, chosen like an unclean jackal by Noah himself, I accept your hallowed task and sing out with a battle cry worthy of your love and your wisdom," said Burgundy. "And that song is, 'Winnipeg, get ready to paint the town Burgundy!'" "It's an honour to work with such an esteemed colleague," said Rauter. "I'm a huge fan of his work. Who are we talking about again?" One of the biggest events in Canadian curling, Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings determines which team will represent Canada at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. TSN has complete coverage of Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings from December 1 through to the finals on December 7 and 8. Ron Burgundy is featured in Paramount Pictures' Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, opening in theatres everywhere on Dec. 20. About Ron Burgundy Ron Burgundy is an award-winning News Anchorman and poet. He lives with his wife, Veronica, and dog, Baxter, in San Diego, California. When he is not making models of eighteenth-century sailing ships, he can often be found on the deck of his own boat, The Shining M'Lady, or supervising archeological digs in and around his backyard. Friday 29th November - BBC Two Wales and BBC Red Button
Scrum V Live: Ospreys v Glasgow Warriors Ross Harries presenting from the Liberty Stadium alongside Justin Marshall, with Sean Holley in the analysis truck Commentators: Gareth Charles and Stuart Davies Red Button commentators: Cennydd Davies and Dafydd Jones (sylwebaeth yn Gymraeg) Reporter: Phil Steele Jed Thian from the Alternative Rugby Commentary will have a special message for Wales fans ahead of the Australia game at half-time tonight. Great to see All Blacks legend and former Osprey Justin Marshall back on Scrum V. He was a regular pundit on the Sunday show when he was playing in Wales and England, but since retiring he's become one of the main co-commentators for Sky Sport in his native New Zealand. Of course he's been back in the UK this month for the Autumn Internationals. |

A bit of a random question for the rugby regulars on here
I'm in Abu Dhabi atm so watched Gloucester vs Leicester on Al Jazeera tonight. Was the BT Sport scorebar in the normal place or have they changed it as on the Al Jazeera coverage it was in the top left as supposed to the bottom left? |

Saturday 30th November - BBC Two
Autumn International: Wales v Australia John Inverdale presented from the Millennium Stadium alongside Matthew Rees and Jeremy Guscott Commentators: Eddie Butler, Justin Marshall and Martyn Williams Reporter: Sonja McLaughlan It's that same awful feeling of deja vu at the end of the Autumn Internationals for Wales fans. ![]() Good to see Matthew Rees back on the television looking well after his diagnosis. I also enjoyed listening to Justin Marshall, who as well as doing co-commentary joined the presentation team for punditry at pitchside in the half hour build-up. I wonder if the BBC will be able to get him involved as a guest pundit/co-commentator during the Six Nations. |

Are Stuart Pyke and John Rawling the only lead commentators on ITV4s darts coverage. There used to be three. Has nobody replaced Peter Drury
